Note to poll board:
I will not able to update this list for the next few weeks. (At least until the first week of September)
But drop your comments anyway, I'll update the list when I can. :(
I have this idea to add how colors are used in each movie and about a shorter , more creative title also.
Goodbye. :(

If I could/knew how to, I'd upload better images for Vertigo (1958). Here's a start to get an idea:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0052357/mediaviewer/rm3335325184
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0052357/mediaviewer/rm3881678592
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0052357/mediaviewer/rm1476985344
I'm not sure which image best showcases In the Mood for Love (2002), maybe one of these?
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118694/mediaviewer/rm4026423808
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118694/mediaviewer/rm1627281920

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118694/mediaviewer/rm2160220672
In Hero (2002), there are several segments, each dedicated to a different color:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0299977/mediaindex?ref_=tt_mv_sm
Is the poll about use of color throughout the film, or about a specific color in a specific context? If the latter, this one from Schindler's List (1993) could fit:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0108052/mediaviewer/rm2478834176
See ya!

Yes.This one's about use of colors throughout the whole movie or a specific scene.

Thorin, do you only put suggestions in lists if you've seen the movie? Just wondering because there are several great suggestions above that you didn't add. Also, I suggest you look at the images you picked, many of them don't do a very good job of showing off their colors.
FYC:
Three Kings - this is the disclaimer that appears at the beginning:
The makers of Three Kings used visual distortion and unusual colors in some scenes of this film. They intentionally used these unconventional techniques to enhanced the emotional intensity of the story line.
What IMDb says: The vibrant color is due to the fact that they used "Ektachrome" slide transparency film, instead of standard film stock, and the "bleach bypass" process actually gave the prints a much deeper black. The silver halide is completely opaque, thus a "true" black. Leaving all of that silver on the prints, resulted in a much higher cost for distribution however.

If you check out the list now, I think you can see the reason why I'm usnig those images.
And I'll add Three Kings. :D
BTW I'm keeping Tron for another poll.

Thorin,
Your captions analyzing the use of color adds a lot to your poll suggestion. I'm looking forward to you completing this poll suggestion to your satisfaction.

One could choose from 1K+movies made from 70s-early 2000s with color alone or compare to 60s epic color then vs now, take weeks to set up poll, all themes.? right

Finally! It's coming to an end. :D
I haven't seen Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory and Contact.
So, I left those 2 empty.

This looks so great! Oh, btw, #31 and #30 seems to be missing a description 'Really beautiful images; very good poll.
May I suggest one small edit to the intro? ('below in bold: 'no comma needed between "to" and "draw")
In movies, colors have been used to draw out emotional reactions, draw focus to significant details/objects, set the tone of the movie, represent character traits and show changes or arcs in the story.
My vote: either 'Do the Right Thing' or 'The Florida Project'

"So your point is, when it comes to science-fiction, fantasy isn't fiction?" No.

I basically stated that both are science fiction but only because of one crucial element, meaning that they are otherwise drama fiction (as in neither science fiction nor fantasy) with a strong penchant for realism. I can see how 2001: A Space Odyssey would be seen as more exciting than Contact, but I'd think the reason for it would have something to do with it taking place "off-world" in a time in which the audience lives "on-world". Overall I'm agreeing with Dream_Weaver here.

What I believe is, 2001 may not seem as a fantasy now because we are in 2018 and 2001 is past, but at the time it was released, it's a fantasy about future.
And Kubrick's attention to detailed cinematic style through the whole movie made it more than just drama fiction for me. :D

I see you instead used The Empire Strikes Back- that's probably a better example, it has better lighting and looks a bit more higher budget :)
