Live Poll: Here's Looking at You!

Very few actors can say so much with just a stare. These actors and actresses have that gift. Just what's on their mind when they do it is anyone's guess. Some say the director of photography or the director her/himself is responsible for some of the most memorable shots. But suffice it to say these actors and actresses probably spent hours in front of a mirror just practicing like any good musician would. Practice makes perfect. These are the very best at it. Who is your favorite?

Ed Jones (XLIX) hard to compete with those 30 already on the poll suggestion!

Although, it notably lacks Jack Nicholson. And, maybe, Viktor Yevgrafov (although his Moriarity is even more menacing and focused). :)

Also Dan Stevens might be eligible, btw. Nearly every single role of his has him drilling the audience with a glare that might shatter something.

Just remembered that there's also Samuel L. Jackson

I have a feeling that a stare competition between these 36 might have been a great movie in itself. :)

I think you're asking who is my favorite actor (of those listed) for facial expressions and stares and not just favorite actor in general? Well, actually, either way, Jodie Foster - with Jack Nicholson in second. (Or do you mean whose specific expression that is shown?)

'A few suggestions:

1.) I'd omit "These are the very best at it" (or at least change it to something like "These are some of the best at it"). That's a tough claim even if the whole list was the likes of Meryl Streep, Marlon Brando, and Robert De Niro but, with actors like Aaron Spelling and Arnold Schwarzeneger, it seems like an understatement to say it's an overstatement. Perhaps you mean the single shots along and not the actors but that is as much of a stretch to say the least so I'd just cut that sentence (it's not necessary) or at least modify it a bit.

2.) The name of the actor is under most of the options but a few have the name of the film, instead (like 'Lawrence of Arabia'). I think it would be less confusing if it were consistent.

: ) Thanks.

This was a forgotten suggestion I revived from almost 10 months ago. Was going to tweak it to bring it up to my current standards. This was one of my very early polls when I was a novice.
You suggestions will be implemented in a day or so, along with some other tweaks.
Thanks
Ed
:):)

P.S. Did not realize that I have over 600 poll lists. About 475 are complete or close. 103 are live. That's not too bad. 1 in 5 are live.

Got busy and did it now.
Dropped 10 from the list as they were staring stage left or right.

Any suggestions???

Which one of these still shots makes you feel that they are looking right at you and only you?

I suggest this stare, because it is the most realistic ever, at least this is exactly what I do on a bus or on a train.Joaquin Phoenix in Joker 2019

Charles Brons was such a cool guy! Yul Brynner is missing (one the "draw!" scenes of 'Westworld' :) Maybe a repush?
