There is nothing secret in my polls. One thing I always follow is to make a poll simple and easy to understand for all and based on simple topics.
In the case of this particular poll, I guess it is pretty much timely as 'Ready Player One (2018)' doing great at the box office. That's why it got picked.

I didn't say there was a secret in your poll, but a secret behind your constantly successful picks.
I know there are timely polls, special events poll and random polls, this one is like the one I suggested after the release of Spielberg's "The Post" with "Movies That Knew Too Much", in fact I try to suggest in the three categories but I don't know... I've been missing that homepage train for more than a semester now and I kind of feel like Mr. Pink or Fredo Corleone again.
I know it won't get better with complaining but sometimes you just need to speak your heart out...

In web version page (http://www.imdb.com/), I am seeing Favorite Movie About Video Games poll on the home page.

Oh weird. My roommate showed me that he saw your "VR" poll on IMDb on his phone... I just found the spike in votes weird since 7 days ago it had 5000 votes. Ever since then, the Video Games poll has been featured instead. Wondering how it more than doubled in votes while it wasn't on the HP.

From Peru and Pibby I have finally got my answer.
I am pretty sure that when my VR poll was on the home page, a different poll was showing on the IMDb App. Because as per my calculation, a poll having those popular titles can get at least 3,000 votes daily it it gets featured at each and every platforms of IMDb.
The VR poll was on the home page for 3 days and at that time it got a total of around 2,600 votes.
