This poll is base on this news article from The Wrap:

Top 50 Film Schools of 2017 Ranked, From USC to Full Sail
http://www.thewrap.com/the-top-50-film-schools-of-2017-ranked/

http://www.imdb.com/news/ni61530943/

I am looking for suitable images to represent each of the film schools in the poll.

I don't know any of these schools' reputations so I'd go for the most objective answer: the least expensive. But I would definitely attend these schools in the anticipation that they would allow me to handle all the necessary material to make movies or to have some working network, not to "educate" me about how to make movies because on that level, I'd definitely take the Tarantino school, this is what he says about movies at 7:40 (the rest of the interview is no less interesting)

Only American schools? They all seem the same to me.

Peter,

I realized after DC posted to this thread that this list is limited to American film schools. I would have preferred a more international flavor to this poll suggestion. If I can find enough information about non-US film schools I may create an international version of the poll.

I would welcome suggestions for international films schools.
For TheWrap’s second annual ranking of top film schools, we interviewed industry experts and academics and compiled a list of the top 50 schools. Then we asked 1,457 film educators and industry insiders to rank each one in terms of prestige in an online poll in which the schools’ order was randomized for each voter. All votes were anonymous.

Since you clearly mentioned "American film schools" there's nothing in the question that makes us expect an international flavor in the first place. The thing is if you extend it to foreign film schools, it will turn the votes to a geographical thing, Indians will vote for the Indian schools, Italians for Italian schools, etc. etc while now, you have an objective parameter to build your poll on.

Anyway, that's how I see it.

I don't see why people would necessarily vote for schools in their own country. Some international options would be more interesting than ten different schools in California.

I didn't notice there were so many options for California. Well, maybe I was too quick in making my assumption, but I thought it was a natural reflex for foreign voters to promote their own country, that said, I'd rather go to an American school and maybe some Americans would be glad to go to a foreign school...

ElM,

I added "American" after Peter's comment. Since I have admin access, I was able to update my original post.

I just changed the title, so it is clear that this poll is limited to American Film Schools. If/when I'm able to find suitable images for this poll and if/when this poll were to go live, I will create an international version.

NYU, definitely (yay, Tisch School of Arts!). My second choice would be RISD (Rhode Island School of Design). I've been really missing school lately and this just makes me miss it more, lol, but I love this poll.

it might be interesting to see some of their notable alums listed. If you' like that idea, I'd be glad to help with research.

Ruby, I like your suggestion. At the moment, I'm focusing on getting suitable images.

This is a back burner effort, since I do not consider this time critical.

Oh, yeah, I see what you mean; I'm not sure why the matter of images didn't occur to me. I'll see if I can find some. For example, there might be some image that would work for RISD on a Talking Heads page. The few that you have so far are quite good, especially considering how difficult this task probably is. I like challenges, though, lol.

Ruby,

I've had to put this poll suggestion on the back burner due to some changes at IMDb.

I am an admitted NYC snob.  So? New York University please.  With a necessary scholarship.

I for one think IMDb should sponsor a scholarship to the winning school of this possible future poll.

Dan, do you need help finding images? I agree with Ruby that a list of 5 or so filmmakers from each school would be helpful.

Jen,

I could use help with images. I'm still dealing with the fall out form the elimination of character lists and updating of the list software.
