Movies directed at children have been known to contain innuendo at times (subtle or not) to amuse the adult audience. However, sometimes the front-and-center title of the film itself sounds questionable, to say the least. Which of the following family movies titles sounds the most inappropriate to you?

Please note: movies that aren't marketed as children/family films but have a G or PG rating may be included.

List: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls024861489/

Poll: https://www.imdb.com/poll/xvHHP9fv6Ys/

I immediately thought of Free Willy before checking the list, it's a good idea but I'm pretty sure you can have many options by sticking to 'family' family films, I got your point about PG rating but with more than 10 options, you don't need fillers, especially James Bond movies which are definitely NOT marketed for the whole family...

FYC

Moana
Inside Out
Home Alone
First Position
Babes in Toyland
That Thing You Do!
Beauty and the Beast
Pee-Wee's Big Adventure
How Green Was My Valley

and many more I'm sure!

The list is of family movies (that includes children's movies). What does that have to do with Robin Hood: Men in Tights and Spaceballs? The whole topic is kind of confusing, to be honest.

Jeorj, it is simple but hard to find examples of it. She is looking for titles of family films that are filled with adult innuendo and double meaning at the time they were created,. She wrote it as ,”Movies directed at children have been known to contain innuendo at times (subtle or not) to amuse the adult audience.” That is why I don’t raise a protest to “Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang” because not because of the title itself, which refers to the sound that car makes due to two cylinders mis-firing, but because Ian Fleming constantly named his characters in the story, and the Bond stories too, with names loaded with not so subtle innuendo. “Caractacus Potts” for ‘Crackpot’, “Trudy Scrumptious” for ‘Truly Scrumptious‘ .
It is not fair to include titles like “The Agony and The Ecstasy” and say it was inappropriate because someone, decades after the movie was made, someone created a date-rape drug called “Ecstasy”. It has to be at the time the movie was made.

It doesn't have to be inappropriate at the time the movie was made, it just has to sound somewhat inappropriate at face value, like if you initially heard the title of the movie without knowing what it's about you'd think it was a porno, something about doing a lot of drugs, or anything else that would be inappropriate for children. I was just comparing the innuendo within some films to the fact that some titles (which are way more difficult to miss than any one scene or line that might be in a film) sound more suited for adults, whether intentional or not

The poll description probably should be reworded so as not to cast aspersions against the makers of these movies belonging to the family genre.

One of the definitions of “a Marker” is the gamboling slang definition of an promissory note or a written I.O.U.. in the many film versions (With Shirley Temple/Adolphe Menjou, (1934) IMHO, being the best, “Sorrowful Jones” (1949) With Bob Hope/Lucille Ball/William Demarest/Mary Jane Saunders (as the marker) as second best IMHO, and “Little Miss Marker” (1980) With Walter Matthau/Julie Andrews/Tony Curtis/Sara Stimson (as the kid, aka marker) being the third), the summery of the story goes like this: (Tryingvto combine all the story summaries of the films listed above) “Sorrowful Jones is a cheap bookie in 1930's.””A young girl is left with the notoriously cheap Sorrowful Jones as a marker for a bet” by her father. “When her father doesn't return”, Jones gets stuck with Martha ‘Marky’ Jane. “he learns that taking care of a child interferes with his” business. “”The sprightly youngster soon has a positive effect on her curmudgeonly guardian, adding a little sunshine to his life. The little girl decides to play matchmaker....” With Jones and his girlfriend. “. However, “Sorrowful ... and his group of fellow bookies .... cynical ways start to rub off on her. Will a party set at Camelot bring back her faith in humanity?”

Remember, they were my opinions only and not stated as fact.

No because each version credits Damon Runyon’s story on which they are based on. “Little Miss Sunshine” doesn’t. But it could be influenced by Runyon’s tale.

Another suggestion of an old film with a suggestive title. My Brother Talks To Horses (1947). The title suggests insanity. But the story line is that the boy has the magical ability is to hear the race horses thoughts.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't know if I consider 'insanity' inappropriate for children. Insanity doesn't discriminate by age and lots of kids have imaginary friends & stuff.  Besides, lots of people talk to animals. I'm always chatting up my dog and rando cats on the street

Torn on this one. The fact that this wouldn't be anatomically possible makes it sound less dirty. If it was called Boots in Puss I'd be all for it.

I think 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' is the worst if you think about how good little children tend to be at making easily distinguishable 'th/sh/ch' sounds.... I'm sure a few parents had Child Protective Services called on them because their child was going around talking about how much they love Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.. :|

that title reminds me other movie with the a similar title "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" with Val Kilmer, Robert Downey Jr and Michelle Monaghan.

but yeah "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" is a tricky title to say. If you say, people gonna think certain things.

Added the Nutcracker one and Sky High. I feel like IMDB will never make this live because they'd probably consider this poll 'R Rated' but I'm getting amusement from the suggestions either way

I believe they will. Aren't all horror polls R-Rated? Besides, all these movies exist with these exact titles, they are just open to interpretation, so the hopes are high :D

Yeah but they told me to change my poll titled 'french splatter films of the 2000s' to 'french gore films of the 2000s' because the word splatter was too R-rated, so who knows about this one hahaha. I mean they are family movies but

The subject heading of the PS list may need to be clearer. Perhaps "Family Movies Whose Titles Could Easily Be Hijacked by 18+ Material" would be a more indicative heading, yet alas perhaps too long.
