Intro:

Jamie Lee Curtis seems to be the leading scream queen in any poll of that issue. But formerly there was a guy who invented the Wilhelm Scream in the movie 'Distant Drums' (1951), which was used in more than hundred movies as an inside gag of the filmindustry. Which of them would you consider to be the majesty of screams? Tell me your thoughts about here.

Wilhelm scream is fascinating. Until you know it's there you never notice. When you start to notice you start to wonder how such high-pitched and distinctive scream actually fits like a glove in as many different scenes...

A good question and a seemingly impossible choice. I'm guessing that Curtis probably learned a lot from watching Wooley, though.

May I suggest two small edits? ('below in bold: just a space between "film" and "industry" and an added word)

That special scream was used in more than one-hundred movies as an inside running gag of the film industry.

Oh, and perhaps add the "Scream" to the title like it is in this thread? That's a great title.

Done. Do you think the title would better be
#1: "Face Off: Scream King or Queen" or
#2: "Face Off: Scream King or Scream Queen"?
I changed it to #1 as you said.

I think either work but my preference would be #1. Would you rather this go live now or for Halloween? This is the perfect Halloween poll, with a Halloween title and all, and my suspicion is that it would get even more votes for Halloween, but I totally get it if you'd rather not wait.

Ok, so #1. ;)
If you can manage it, I would prefer to see it go live on Halloween. :D
I also guess it would run better.

Thank you, ruby. That's special nice of you. But I thought Halloween is on 31th of October to 1st of November. Is it a tradition in America to celebrate it one full week? It would be somehow like our Fasching or Narrenzeit. The Narrenzeit beginns on 11.11.xxxx 11:11 o'clock each year until Ash Wednesday. In Germany Ash Wednesday is the 26. February in 2020. But it varies each year. Fasching is manifested more in the souther parts of Germany. It beginns in early February and ends at Ash Wednesday. It's like a folkfest with free chosen maskerade. In Austria and Tyrol it has a more unique archaic character with anually processed rituals in the little villages on the mountain countryside. I guess some Tyrolean could tell us more about.

Breumaster,

Halloween is indeed celebrated on October 31st in America. Although, one would think that is was August 1st if you saw the candy aisle in many stores.

Ruby's Happy Halloween wishes were early since this is the last Friday before Halloween. We typically have Face-Off polls run on Friday.

I can't tell you how much I HATE the Wilhelm scream. It's one of my biggest cinematic pet peeves.

Me too Stephan..... It is way too overused. When I hear it, it is very distracting.
