As of 07th July 2017, these movies starring Michael Caine are the highest rated. Which one do you think is the best?

List: http://www.imdb.com/list/ls068268492/

(Also, do you think I should add or remove a title ?)

my vote goes for the original 'the italian job'...there were several others i really liked as well, like 'sleuth', 'the ipcress file', 'alfie', 'the quiet american', etc...but 'italian job' gets my vote...

as for adding and detracting...i would get rid of all the ones that he actually didn't 'star' in, like the batman films, inception, etc...(besides the fact that you know they will get most of the votes)...

michael caine has had a brilliant career with certainly enough 'starring roles' to fill several lists...(for example:...dressed to kill...the hand...without a clue...jaws:the revenge...the fourth protocol...quicksand...beyond the poseidon adventure....just to name a few...)

all i'm saying is, i would focus more on those...but it's still a great idea...

Well, I think my use for "starring" is still wrong. Maybe I should change it to featured ? That would be the point of the poll. :)

I would suggest removing "Inception " from the list because his role in that amounts to basically a cameo. I think he doesn't over a minute of screen time in that.
I would suggest putting in his new movie "Going In Style". It is lowly rated but it went in and out of the theaters so fast that I missed this. I want to see this film - I really mean it. Look at that cast! Micheal Caine, Morgan Freeman, Anne Margret (yup, she is still putting it out), Alan Arkin, Christopher Lloyd, Matt Dillon, and Kenan Thompson from SNL! This featurette is a must watch: http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi1123... ( six films that Freeman and Caine did together? Damn, I need to catch up! But I like the reason why Caine got in to acting!!!!) oh and as a matter of polite manners, here are the other clip and trailer for that movie: http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi1590...

Very good point, will remove Inception. He really has a small role in there. Will add Going In Style instead.

The Dark Knight (2008), Lot of highly rated films to choose from.

FYC "movies starring or co-starring" I think would be more accurate.

You might want to take a look at Caine's awards page. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000323/aw...

He got a lot of awards and nominations for the role of Ray Say in the film "Little Voice" (1998). If you want to include made for TV movie mini series work, he got a lot of nominations and awards for the lead role of Inspector Frederick Abberline in "Jack the Ripper" (1988).

The last three "Batman" films in which Michael Caine played Alfred the butler, plus some that aren't on the list:

1. "Mandela and De Klerk"(1997);
2. "On Deadly Ground"(1994);
3. "Mr. Destiny"(1990); &
4. "Jaws: The Revenge"(1987)

I don't if this is serious consideration for this poll because he plays a supporting character in it and the film is lowly rated. It is "Sweet Liberty". It is a move about a movie company coming to a small New England town to shoot a movie adapted from a book about a historical battle in the American Revolution. Miacheal Caine plays a married womanizing actor cheating on his wife. Alan Alda is the man who wrote the book and is upset on how the director is changing his book to twist it into a comedy. Bob Hoskins is the screenwriter who had to adapt the book into the screenplay.
I hope you enjoy the rollercoaster scene from the film. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=r013KV1...

From the "How to make a poll FAQ":

1. Be original and creative. We already have a way to rank a name (director, actor, etc), so polls like What's your favorite of these films of Director X are largely redundant. Look for less obvious, more imaginative and creative options. In particular, characters do not have these rankings today, so polls involving characters are always novel.

Good point. I'll do Inspector Frank Abborline, the man in charge of the Jack the Ripper case, the only one he failed catch . Otherwise, he was kind of super constable of his day and was responsible for putting many murders behind bars. Micheal Caine and Johnny Depp both played him.
