guess 'frantic' didn't get enough votes...shame...that was one of his best...

but of this list, i would say 'the conversation' even though i don't even remember him being in it...

Since you have six slots left, you could lower the 50,000 to 40,000, if you want to, and include Frantic and maybe a few others, thus letting some people know about some of his less well known films. This poll would be a great platform from which to do that.

Frantic (1988) is also one of my favorite Harrison Ford movies.

I've added Frantic and a couple other movies by setting the minimum of votes to 40,000.

Well, Witness is on the list. And Regarding Henry has not enough votes. The criteria was at least 40,000 votes.

Participants have made the correct choices for the top three, given their options, but this poll offers stupid choices.  Quite a few of these movies are pure crap, while Mosquito Coast should have been included.

Broad use of the term starring. He has one line in Bruno. Too bad K19 ranked so low. It's not bad.

Raiders and the Star Wars pictures are in a class by themselved, but I think younger people need to be exposed to Witness for example. A nephew of mine jyst graduated High School without knowing who Kevin Costner was. I had to say "Clark Kent's dad." Even recent movie history needs to be better promoted.

Either Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980) or Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) would get my vote.

'Great list and a very well made list. I like how you include his character's name and the number of votes. My vote would go to The Conversation, The Fugitive, or Blade Runner.

I've seen you around here a lot lately but I don't think I've said hello yet, so welcome. You're a good addition. :)

Oh, can I make one suggestion? 'Changing 50.000 to 50,000 (with a comma).

Also, if you hyperlink Harrison Ford's name in the intro, it might make it more likely that the poll will appear on his page. Here's the link to his page: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000148/?ref_=nv_sr_1. You can copy and paste this: [link=http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000148/?ref_=nv_sr_1]Harrison Ford[/link]

I usually like European ways of doing things better, such as the notation with numbers, but the editors prefer American English, which, as an American, kind of embarrasses me a bit because I feel like the ugly American, you know? Lol.

I remember when I was in high school, I went overseas for the first time and visited Sweden, Finland, and Russia. After that, a friend I met while in Stockholm and I starting writing letters to each other and when I saw how he wrote the date with the number before the month, I loved that and just had to write the date that way: I was a bit pretentious at that age and wanted to seem "European," lol. Hopefully the pretenses are gone but I still prefer the ways various European countries do even the little things like punctuation -- and don't get me started on politics, hahaha. You all are light years ahead of us in those areas.

hey fruit...i have to laugh because i constantly watch british tv and films over american nonsense, and will end up using phrases just because they are so ingrained in my brain...

i don't do the date thing, though i know what you mean...

i'd write more but my bubble-n-squeak is getting cold and my bangers and mash just didn't fill me this morning...anyway..love your comments...brilliant...t'ah...

About those numbers, that notation is, perhaps surprisingly, one of the things that IMDb has chosen to make dependent on the user's location. I see this:

Apocalypse now is not STARRING Harrison Ford. Its not even STARRING Marlon Brando. It STARS Martin Sheen in the lead. It INTRODUCES Larry Fishburne... Guest STARS: Robert Duvall & Dennis Hopper. HF is an unknown extra at best.

Sorry, maybe I took the wrong word. I'm not a native english speaker. I thought 'starring' would fit the best. 'Featured' would have been way better I think.

No worries. He was in American Graffitti enough to make it a little known HF cult classic. But his part in Apocalypse Now is more like a footnote. How he got his foot in the Hollywood door. Haha

I think his "Han Solo" and "Indiana Jones" roles were his all-time best performances.  Plus  there were his roles as: John Book in "Witness", Dr. Richard Kimble in "The Fugitive" which was based on the T.V. series, Tom O'Meara in "The Devil's Own", and of course his stunning performance as President James Marshall in "Air Force One".
