Clint Eastwood has been acting for decades leaving a legacy of legendary films that many have enjoyed. With his new film The Mule (2018) coming out soon for the Oscar season, I thought I would make this poll for you IMDb users to vote for your favorite Clint Eastwood movie. So, which one is your favorite?

A hodgepodge of works in which he acted or directing. Interesting.

Him as Blondie in "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly".

I think you may need to reformule the title because since Clint is also a director, (in fact more successful on this than the the career acting) people will may misunderstood. You are asking best Eastwood performance and since he was two careers in cinema people will misunderstood at first sight.

You're right. I noticed there's already a poll for 'Favorite Movie Directed by Clint Eastwood'. I'll change the title to 'Best Movie Starring Clint Eastwood' so the nature of the poll is more clear.

Pale Rider (1985) gets my vote, I like the revised focus on one of the sixty-five movies Eastwood has appeared in. I would cut at the very least the little seen, low box office ($5 million or less) White Hunter Black Heart (1990) and Honkytonk Man (1982)  I would save a spot or two, in case the 88 year old actor has one or two films left in him. It hard to see those two getting any or more than a handful of votes, especially behind at least two dozen well-known, better known and much stronger options. That's a good one! I might cut those two movies from the list.

Thanks for commenting!

Perhaps you should update the text a bit to say that The Mule has been released.

I would recommend to focus the poll on his one-hit character movies, if you include the Dollars trilogy or the Dirty Harry movies, any film he made later in his career wouldn't stand a chance.

For instance I just love his 1993 movies, A Perfect World or In the Line of Fire but here I have no other choice than voting for The Good, the Bad and the Ugly...

I get what you are saying- The Good, The Bad and The Ugly and Dirty Harry will probably be the two most popular picks. Although I can still see some voting for the other films like those two you mentioned. That's why I like doing these polls, to see the different or similar opinions people have when it comes to movie related topics.

I was only talking from experience, this is a good legitimate poll and there's no reason to single out movies just because of their reputation, but Eastwood's career had reached such a magnitude... I mean, even his 'great' films will be dwarfed by the ones that have you know that "iconic" aura over them... it's like making a Scorsese poll and not to expect the obvious ones to get the most votes. I'm not suggesting you change the poll, but... well, I guess I was quite suggesting it :) :)

It's inevitable you'll get their most popular films to get the most votes. With the case of Scorcese you'll probably get lots of Taxi Driver (my favourite), Goodfellas and The Departed. Although I'm sure a few people might vote for his gems such as Mean Streets, The King of Comedy, After Hours, etc.

Well-acted, well-directed, well-photographed film but I'll always have a problem with that plot-setting "contract", these two guys simply didn't deserve to be killed. There'll always be an ethical barrier between me and Unforgiven.

That was part of the point.  By the time the story got to Eastwood's character, it was all out of whack.

Best movie he was in: The Good, The Bad & The Ugly
Best movie he directed: The Unforgiven

For a Few Dollars More, White Hunter Black Heart, Million Dollar Baby and Pale Rider also deserve mentions. Also, I have a special place in my heart for Any Which Way But Loose and its follow-up. Guilty pleasures, but still.
