Hello again, I'm not sure why my posts keep getting disabled when the issue hasn't been resolved...
I have now submitted significant modifications/edits to existing outlines (9) that where incorrect as per recommendation from a rep, as she said if you submit a deletion of an existing outline and submit a your own new one, we won't replace it, even though this had happened in the past.
I did that originally and my outlines and deletions where declined.
Anyways, under that recommendation of the rep I have now carried out these significant edits to the outlines that where incorrect and they are now completely different and have now been approved to the point where they are my original submissions that where originally declined.
Now that they have been approved and showing on the website, I need to be accrediated with authorship!
It is completely contradicting what the rep said!
I was not allowed to submit a new outline by replacing the old outline, but I say again, it already has been changed and approved and I have not been accredited for my outlines which I am entitled to
I am the author of those outlines and not anybody else
The author of those outlines needs to change to be in my username please
As a rep said beforehand:
"If you're changing the plot outline entirely, then you are the new author of that outline"
This has now occured so please make it happen!
It does not go against the guidelines and I don't see why it is so hard to add my username to the outlines, very frustrating!
I have also asked for a link to give a reason why a particular outline should be deleted because it is either blatantly incorrect, poorly written or spoilerish and still no link is provided...

HI there, can you please clarify the issue you're experiencing? Are you correcting both the plot and the by line in your submissions?

Hi James, can you please confirm if you are changing the plot authorship along with the outline itself in the submissions you're referring to in this post?

I have changed the outlines entirely and significantly and after they have been approved by the editors and showing on the website i can't see the option to change the authorship which I am entitled to do as they are my outlines

Doesn't it give you the option to edit the name along with the outline, I don't think IMDB themselves don't have a hand in plot contributor credits. I once edited a plot just to remove an authors name because I knew he'd copy & pasted it from an official source and stuck his name on it. But usually if I improve an outline I leave the original author on it but the option to erase their name and put my name is always there.
If I've misread your situation I apologise but hopefully I helped.

Hi James, when you're submitting plot outlines, you do need to select to modify both the plot and the authorship. This is so our editors know that you're requesting a change in authorship based on the changes you're making to the plot. Without this, you won't see a change in the author of a plot. Moving forward, please make sure you're modifying both sections in your submissions.

Elizabeth, this is my whole issue and you're still not helping!
Why is this so hard for you to grasp and understand the issue here!
Show me how to edit the author as I can't see it anywhere!
Whats the point of having this service if you are not going to help and rectify what i am entitled?
Why can't you just add my name to the outlines for me right now?

Hi James, thanks for clarifying you're using the app to make these modifications to plot outlines. To clarify the best way forward for you in regards to ensuring authorship on the titles:
Submitting from a desktop (preferred method): when you modify a plot, you can select both the plot and the author line to modify and submit.
Submitting from an app: in these cases if retaining authorship is a concern, please delete the plot and add a new one in the interim while I follow up with the appropriate team regarding this.

Finally we are getting somewhere!
I don't have a desktop so the only way forward is on my mobile device. Maybe they should implement it for the app!
Retaining authorship is great concern of mine, I was told by yourself last post you are not allowed to delete a plot and submit a new one? Shoukd I do that now?
I'll be waiting for your response with excitement

James.
I have seen things like this take months.
I have had major false data removal projects go 6-10 weeks or more.
Your issue is software.
That may take a long time.
Someone has got to write code.
Your issue would be on a list and be handled in order of importance.
So don't expect a fix in a jiffy.

Okay no worries, a little communication would still help
I think you can agree on that

I am just a patient waiter. I can extrapolate what staff goes through. They are overwhelmed. They do follow through however. Until they get an inter-agency e-mail saying that the glitch is fixed they do not have a program that reminds them of pending issues. If you post here on an open (Not Solved) page they will see it....Yes. But if there is no news, they won't reply. They are very busy. There is zero downtime. They never "Catch Up" so to speak. Every day is a mountain of data. Never ending.
Be patient.

I'm always patient, so dont worry, you're not 'above ' everyone else Ed
I've had this issue for a few months and its good to see they are doing something about it
Keeping people up to date and communicating goes a long way in this world. Maybe giving an estimated time for solution would be a another good idea to take on board :) :)

That's part of my point. They usually do not have one. Software glitches are handled triage style.
