Plot outline not showing after being approved

I have submitted a few plot outlines over the last couple of months and they are still not showing after being approved!
Just wondering why this is the case?
I have attached photos of the said films
Ransom
Dark Phoenix
GoldenEye
Matrix Reloaded
Matrix Revolutions
Hopefully an IMDB rep can sort this out ASAP please
I also would like to know how someone's submission is chosen to be the main plot outline for the website? Thanks in advance

Hi James -

I reviewed all these submissions and noted that all these Plot Outlines were actually rejected by our editors, but the "Approved" notation in the tracking was reported incorrectly due to a missed action on our editors part.  So these submissions should have displayed a "Rejection" notification instead of the "Approved" status.

These Plot Outlines were rejected because we only allow one Plot Outline per title, and the existing outlines we had listed were sufficient.

Okay thanks for getting back to me

Hopefully the editors can do their job properly next time

But can you answer me this please - My outlines where completely different to the ones that where already listed so I don't see why this is the case?

I'll submit another one and if it comes back approved and it still doesn't show I'll be back here to tell you and see why

That's not relevant. IMDb allows one plot outline per title. A second one won't be added. If the current plot outline has minor errors (like a misspelled word or something), you can submit a correction. If the current plot outline is totally wrong, you can submit a deletion in which you should explain why it should be deleted altogether instead of just corrected.

There are multiple plot outlines per title on IMDB once you click on the chosen main outline. So yes, it is relevant.
Thanks for the info, I'll submit a deletion

I understand why you think that, but that's actually not the case. IMDb has plot outlines, plot summaries and plot synopses. As you can read in the guide (https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/titles/plots/G56STCKTK7ESG7CP?ref_=helpms_helpart_inline#), a plot outline has a maximum of 240 characters, a plot summary is, very roughly, about five lines long and a plot synopsis deals with every scene in a title (this including spoilers) and is therefore pretty long.

If you click on a plot outline, you get taken to a page where the plot outline, the plot summary (or summaries) and the plot synopsis are shown, all on the same page. I can see why that might be a bit confusing, but at the top of the page, it does say "jump to Summaries (number of summaries) | Synopsis (1)" (obviously assuming there is a synopsis for the particular title).

I'm not sure if you can read or understand what I'm trying to put across and ask the rep
I can see why you're confused but that is understandable due to your lack of intelligence on this matter

I know there is only one plot outline selected for each title and I know when you click on it, it takes you to the summary page
Hence why I asked in my original post "how is someone's submission chosen to be the main plot outline"

If you read the guideline link you attached above, it says a short summary may be re-routed to the outline list
This is what my submissions where and I was going for
This is why I was asking for a rep to clarifiy why mine where approved but not shown and now I know why due to her response above

I was describing the story, not the summary of the plot
All submissions where less than 5 lines long and less than 240 characters
This is why the rep said above the existing outlines where sufficient

So before you come on here and believe you are trying to help You're only making yourself look silly
Try give someone the benefit of doubt and understand their point of view when it doesn't concern you

I clearly asked for the reps response and not some guy named Marco that doesn't understand what he's talking about
Hope this has helped you :)

Hello Michelle or any other IMDB rep, I have submitted another plot line for Goldeneye and it has been approved but still isn't showing?

I submitted a deletion of the pre exsisting outline you had and it has now been approved and deleted due to being incorrect and poorly written, so thankyou

Just wondering when my submission below will show? Thankyou

Awaiting your reply...

Only one Plot Outline is accepted, but several Summaries (and Synopsis) are possible. As already said by Marco and Michelle.

But, IMDb seems to list the Plot Outline ”together” with multiple Summaries (when you click ”Storyline => Summary” from the main title page) which can cause confusion. Not fully sure why the page doesn’t list Outline under ”Plot Outline” and then Summaries under ”Plot Summary”. Now some people might think that multiple Outlines are accepted.

For some reason, ”GoldenEye” (1995) doesn’t seem to have a Plot Outline at all. This can be double-checked by clicking ”Edit” and ”Correct/Plot Outline”. It says none are available.

”Ransom” (1996) has an existing Plot Outline, but one could argue that it’s kinda spoiler-ish.

Didn’t check the Matrix films.

I understand completely how it works so don't worry!

All I'm waiting on is a reps response. I can then speak to them regarding my further submissions that I have ready to send through for clarification

I have also submitted plenty of outlines and have submitted plenty of deletions of exsisting outlines due to them being either spoiler-ish, not relevant, incorrect or poorly written

Till a rep responds, I bid you all adieu....

Hi James, we've already comprehensively addressed your concern regarding plot outlines; again, please submit a correction if you feel the plot should be adjusted, for review.
