Why did you move it?  Now it’s at the bottom, then moves to the top, then changes from white to black when you start typing?

please put it back like it was BEFORE the last update.
Thanks!

Hi Tim,

Thank you for your feedback regarding the updates to the Search feature in the IMDb app. This feedback has been provided to the appropriate team, and I've updated this post to an "Idea" where it can be reviewed by other IMDb staff and users for consideration for future updates.

Please let us know if we can offer any further help.

Couldn't agree more with this. Please put the Search Window on Top please. That was one of the most used feature!

I agree. Put the search bar back on the top of the first page that opens when you open up the app! Frankly, I also hate the entire look of the new app. It really sucks! It’s the very definition of not-user-friendly.

Agree. New search functionality is a UX fail. You click on search on the bottom, then have to go all the way to the top to get there? 99% of the time, I’m on IMDB to search. It should always be on the screen for me to type into. Always. Did IMDB not do user testing before launching all this new stuff? App is not as functional and useful as it used to be. Did I mention UX fail?

You are absolutely right, Lainey. IMdB needs a better UX person. Search is one of their most used features (its a database, remember?) Having to click twice, and that too on the opposite ends of the screen, is a disaster.
If you dont want to waste your real estate for search, just put a simple ‘slide down search box’ that appears on the top on sliding down. Its better than having to click all the way at the bottom.
Cant wait until their next update, and hope they listen to us.

I agree with Abhinav. Instead of one action, I now have to tap search to open a search bar. Then move to top of page to put in my search parameters. Search is always the first action I take when coming to the IMDB app. It should always be visible and easily accessible.

I don’t care if it’s at the top or bottom, but just leave the search box always on the page - almost like the UI designer has never used the app

YES! Why isn’t the search box on the front page and on the top of an app that calls itself a DATABASE? The first thing you do here is SEARCH for people. Nobody cares about other features or whatever. It’s a DATABASE. First thing I should be able to do is SEARCH it.
