Pinocchio

I'm Italian. I selected "Italian" as the display language for titles on IMDB.
By looking for Disney's "Pinocchio," I was directed to "Pinokio (1940)." The correct Italian spelling of the movie title is "Pinocchio" (which is also the original title of Collodi's book). "Pinokio" is the German spelling.
I've tried to amend this error by clicking "Edit page" and filling out the appropriate field with the Italian spelling of the movie title. But every time I click "Check the update," IMDB rejects the change with the following reason: "The updated title is the same as the original one." What should I do to have the Italian spelling amended?

I'm not clear on what you tried. This was given the green light:

But I don't see the value in adding it to the title.
I'd wait to get a reply from IMDb staff explaining why you got the Serbian/Croatian version of the title instead of the original title.

Hello, Champion.
Thank you for your reply.
You say, "I don't see the value in adding it to the title." The point is that if there's an error, it should be amended.
Kind regards,
G.C.

The original title is already "Pinocchio", so there is no reason to correct it. But adding an Italian alternative title, as bderoes shows, would specify which title is shown when you choose Italy in the title display settings.

Are you by any chance located in one of the countries for which "Pinokio" has been set as the display title - Croatia, Japan, Poland, Serbia?

Hello, Peter.
Yes, I am, and I eventually realized that the issue depended on that. By connecting to the Web via a VPN (after choosing "Italy" as my location), IMDB shows me the correct Italian spelling – i.e., "Pinocchio." Nonetheless, even before using the VPN, other movie titles showed up in Italian – e.g., "Gone with the Wind" showed up as "Via col vento"...
