What is the cricket equivalent of a grand slam home run? Like the greatest thing one could ever do with a bat?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Jen,

In cricket, when the batsman hit the ball over the boundary line then he and his team get a "6 runs". Which is the maximum value of runs.

Using bat the following runs can be made - 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6.

For special cases 5 and 7 runs can be made. If the bowler bowls a 'no-ball' and on the same delivery if the batsman hits a 4 or 6. Then he'll get 4 or 6 runs under his individual score, but his team will get an extra run for that 'no-ball'.

USA is promoting Cricket on their land for last couple of years. I heard that on the news. Cricket is a very exciting sport. You'll like it.

Unfortunately, I have seen baseball on TV sometimes, but I don't understand a single rule of it...!!!

Thanks. Is there a particular term for when the batsman gets 6 runs?

Yes, the term is "Over Bounday" and 4 runs is called "Boundary". Also the following words are used for 6 runs:

1. Six
2. Sixer
3. Maximum

etc.

In baseball, the grand slam home run is when all bases are covered right ?

In cricket the maximum runs scored of one ball is 8 but that happens rarely. As DC mentioned,6 runs in the norm.

KP,

Actually - https://www.quora.com/Can-a-batsman-take-more-than-6-runs-by-running

There is no limit on runs scored by running per ball asper the Law 18 of 'Laws of Cricket'. Also runs due to overthrows are added in batsman's score so 6 or more runs can be scored without ball crossing the boundary

Please check #3 on this list and see if I'm using the term correctly.

A young cricketer seeks a mythical craftsman living in the extreme north of Kashmir. The bats he creates are said to score over boundary on each delivery.
