Did I miss a clip of 'Les Intouchables' or was there not one included in your video? My favourite French film of all time :)
Love how you've synced up the music with the editing; by the time you're at the running sequence of the video, the pace of the music had picked up as well. Reminds me of 'Amadeus' - great stuff ElM!

Amélie, The Arrival of a Train..., The Sprinkler Sprinkled (always thought this was British), Trip to the Moon, Napoléon, The Passion of Joan of Arc, An Andalusian Dog, Bande à Part, The Artist, Danny Boon...maybe Micmacs?, Les demoiselles de Rochefort, La Haine, Taxi (?), The discreet charm of the Bourgeoisie, Last Year at Marienbad, Louis and his Cabbage Heads, Going Places (Les Valeuses), one of the "Marius" movies, one of the Don Camillo/Peppone movies (weren't they Italian?), The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, Breathless, M. Hulot's Holiday, Belle de Jour, The Chorus, The Big Blue, Wages of Fear, The Silence of the Sea, Persepolis, Alphaville (Lemmy Caution), Léon, Le Samourai, 400 Blows (and probably another of the Antoine Doinel movies), Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra, Delicatessen (you'd shown this scene before here), Asterix and Cleopatra, La Vie en Rose (La Mome), Port of Shadows (?), The War of the Buttons, One Deadly Summer, Cyrano de Bergerac, Army of Shadows.
As always, great work :)

The one with Dany Boon was actually a movie I hated (nice premise but a lousy main plot) it's about a man suffering from extreme hypocondria... "Taxi" is right, the one with the running guy is from Leon Carax' "Bad Blood", I never heard about this director until I started these montages, seems like a stylish fellow (yet relatively unknown).
The "Don Camillo" series was a wide popular success in both France and Italy, the first film is still one of the top 10 highest grossing French movies of all time and it's one of Fernandel's most emblematic role so it can fairly be considered a French classic especially since the director is Julien Duvivier (the one who made Gabin a star).
I showed "Delicatessen" but not this specific moment, I was eccstatic when i remembered it because it's the longest bit and it fits almost perfectly the montage 'climax', I don't know why montages turn me on like this... but the real thrill was to make a homage to French classics...
... I was perplex about including the Dany Boon film but that subway moment had me laugh to tears and I like how its 'ballet' aspect worked with the melody.

Alphaville was tricky, the actor is Eddie Constantine but I almost mixed him up with Jean Servais in Rififi. They both look so weather-beaten.
Just looked up the first Don Camillo movie, Wikipedia says the language was Italian but the movie was a French production. Interesting.

Actresses: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkovh065leY
Actors: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDJqHZnS5b0
(my guess is that the actors will be more famous, especially the Top 10 starting backwards)

Your suspicions were about right, the actors' names started to ring a bell after 2 minutes, for the actresses, after 3 :)

Just about every move in her private life was publicized and scandalized and the press was after her in a way that seemed excessive even for a movie star (it didn‘t help that she actually enjoyed the company of men and was somewhat gullible).
France at the time was a better place anyway career-wise but I think Romy wanted to escape the bad public vibes more than anything.
There‘s a recent movie called „3 Days in Quiberon“ that chronicles some of her last days. She agrees to an interview with a German journalist, and I think the first thing he says is, „you‘re still known as Sissi.“ - 25 years after she played the role, and one year before her death. The journalist asks her many intimate questions, and naive as she is, she confides too much than will be good for her.
Romy Schneider is one of those people whose life was just as dramatic (and tragic) as her movie roles.

Speaking of "Gone With the Wind", since the film is such a high standard of cinema, I've thought some day of making a poll about favorite foreign counterparts or answers to "Gone With the Wind", there's always one period film from a country that reached such an iconic status it becomes known as the country's "GWTW".
I don't think there are enough examples to make a poll:
Germany: "Sissi"
Italy: "The Leopard"
France: "Children of Paradise"
India: "Mother India"
What else? Japan? Sweden?

Poland may have one with Potop (The Deluge; 1974). I haven't seen it but my parents remember it as the big national story that was shown to school classes and such, and it's the third most successful film in their history. Wikipedia tells it sold even more tickets in the Soviet Union - go figure.
Speaking of which, maybe we have a candidate for a country that no longer exists: Battleship Potemkin for Soviet Union?
The idea is worth a try anyway. I would have to ask Breumaster if he agrees on Sissi.
And Romy Schneider reminds me of a poll I was going to suggest (something like this one but for actors) but I'll try to collect old ideas and pass them down to others in another thread.

A poll by ur22567331.Sorry, but that's what I noticed first (dammit!)
It's an interesting idea and I'm pretty sure there are other potential candidates. How about Woody Allen? Maybe Orson Welles? Luis Bunuel? Seems like a good "homework" poll but then again, given the options, I think it'd be lucky if it dragged 150 votes by the end of the day.

ElM.
But I only used 40% of the footage I had collected, that's the tragedy with 'editing', there's a lot of filtering and when you use a clip as a 'filler', you feel like you're cheating with your premise :)
I'm glad you liked it, people's enjoyment is the only rewarding satisfaction I'm seeking...
PS; It's not "Battle of Algiers" but "La Chartreuse de Parme"
PS 2: Funny you mention "Amadeus", it was the inspiration to the 'feel good' clip, I sure wish this clip will embody my mood some time in the future :)
