Oscar nominees without IMDb name pages

abdurahman49 has brought to my attention the fact that there are a few people who have been nominated for Academy Awards yet do not have IMDb name pages of their own. As a result, their award nominations are not properly displayed on the pages for the award event or the award pages for the films they worked on.

I would like to request that they be allowed to have name pages notwithstanding that they might not otherwise qualify so that their nominations can be properly linked. This is what was done for George Ludlam (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm8129810/) and Frank Chase (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm8129809/) based on my request in https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topics/request-for-awards-master-edit.

The people affected are as follows:

Lloyd B. Norlin
Lloyd B. Norlin wrote the song "Out of the Silence" for the film All-American Co-Ed (1941), which was nominated for Best Music, Original Song in the 1942 Academy Awards (see https://www.imdb.com/event/ev0000003/1942/1/, where the song is mentioned but he is not listed). He is listed in the Academy Awards records as "Lloyd B. Norlind" (see https://www.oscars.org/oscars/ceremonies/1942) but that is apparently a misspelling. The film's own credits spell his name as Lloyd B. Norlin:

The "Norlin" spelling is also used by ASCAP (https://www.ascap.com/repertory#ace/writer/22540916/NORLIN%20LLOYD%20B), and appeared in his obituaries in the Chicago Tribune (https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/ct-xpm-2000-05-18-0005180091-story.html) and the Northwestern University alumni magazine (https://www.northwestern.edu/magazine/northwestern/fall2000/fall00inmemoriam.htm).

O. Dalsgaard-Olsen
In the 1957 Academy Awards, and only that year, the producers of the Best Foreign Language Film nominees were considered nominees personally, as opposed to all the years since then when only the submitting country has been considered a nominee. O. Dalsgaard-Olsen was the nominated producer for the Danish entry, Qivitoq (1956). See https://www.oscars.org/oscars/ceremonies/1957 for confirmation. I found a copy of the film online but didn't see his name credited on screen in that film, which might help explain why he doesn't have an IMDb name page. I haven't been able to find much information about him, even in Danish, a language that I don't know, except that his full first name appears to have been Olaf.

Tevin Thomas
For the 2008 Academy Awards, Tevin Thomas was one of three people nominated for Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures, Original Song, for the song "Raise It Up" from August Rush (2007). (See https://www.oscars.org/oscars/ceremonies/2008.)

The song is apparently credited in the film as "Written by Impact Repertory Theatre", but the Oscar rules at the time allowed no more than three people to share in a Best Song nomination. The three people who were eventually designated as nominees were Jamal Joseph, Charles Ray Mack, and Tevin Thomas. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raise_It_Up_(August_Rush_song) and https://books.google.com/books?id=2_sAGNsWIfgC&pg=PA278&lpg=PA278&dq="raise+it+up"+tevin+jamal+impact (co-writer Jamal Joseph's autobiography).

Although Joseph and Mack have other IMDb-listed non-soundtrack credits and thus have their own name pages, Tevin Thomas does not.

Thus, I am requesting that IMDb name pages be added for the following people
  • Lloyd B. Norlin
  • O. Dalsgaard-Olsen
  • Tevin Thomas

My two cents.
The soundtrack credits edit page needs an overhaul.
There should be a way to add names just as you would for cast or crew credits.
Not the current method where one must format properly and write the whole credit manually using a [link=nm].
Doing this would avoid formatting rejections and allow contributors to just fill in the required pre-formatted data and add a new name page if necessary, instead of as you are doing here gromit82.

Thanks form solving this problem, but there is an even bigger one concerning ACTUAL Oscar winners:  the Scientific and Technical winners whose names were not attached to a particular title and, therefore, do not have their own IMDb pages.  Those winners are often nowhere in the IMDb database.
