Can I use the photos from the film (Once upon a time in hollywood) to put on a hoodie and sell as a school project?

Okej: The photos are copyrighted, as you will see on pages such as https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7131622/mediaviewer/rm2325778945 -- they have "Copyright Sony Pictures Entertainment" notices on each page.

Consequently, you would need to get permission from Sony to use photos from their films on clothing. Looking at http://www.sonypicturesstudios.com/filmclipandstilllicensing.php, your best bet would be to contact their film clips licensing department at FilmClips@spe.sony.com and ask them. (I know you're not seeking to license a clip, but the same department also handles stills.)

(In any event, IMDb can't grant you permission for such use. IMDb only has authorization to display these photos on their own website; they can't authorize other people to use the photos for other purposes.)

To reiterate, we do not own the rights to distribute or reproduce any of the content you see on IMDb, only to host the content on our site. You will need to contact the rights holder (typically the production company) for any request of the sort.
