On the IOS app, what the difference between name and title when creating a new list?

When creating a new list it gives the option to set the type of list, ‘name’ or ‘title’.
So I tried doing both. Then, when adding a movie to a list, only the ‘title’ type lists are available to be added to.
What are the ‘name’ types for then?

Titles are of movies, series, videos and games, which have "tconst" identifiers. Names are of people and animals, or such as on-screen performers, voice performers, stunt performers, storytellers, directors, cinematographers, grips, gaffers, boom operators, scene editors, sound mixers, producers, publicists and agents, which have "nconst" identifiers.

I'd imagine (though I don't actually know) that there is no perception of "tconst" or "nconst" in App, since things like URLs tend to be obscured on app-oriented platforms, be it a PDA or something like Roku (or smartTVs, cable boxes, video game consoles or online-capable Blu-ray players).

I see, thanks, that makes sense. The app doesn’t give much explanation, that I could find

ACT_1, it has occurred to me that your and my responses to this topic are not quite as helpful as they could potentially be if we actually had experience using the iOS app ourselves. Basically we're inadvertently (or deliberately) enticing D Mars (and other app consumers) to utilize IMDb features largely (or only) found on the desktop platform. That's fine, as long as customers don't abandon the app before the app developers have a chance to perfect it, but we probably don't have to worry about that. We should be careful.

ACT_1, well, anybody with a functioning web browser on any platform (including smartphones) and unfettered associated Internet access should be able to make use of your hyperlinks, but I don't know that the app works anything like a web browser.

I do not understand why cell phones and such have to use Apps and can not just go directly to the WWW like the 10,000,000,000 desktops... but then I am not Steve Jobs.  I need to buy a cell phone and ... - well, there is no one to talk to and I am home all day n night with my PC.   Done with private chat here ??

ACT_1, we're way off on a tangent here, but like I mentioned in a comment under an earlier reply in this conversation, the tech sector is incorporating into phones a lot of features similar to that of Roku units, smartTVs, cable boxes, video game consoles or online-capable Blu-ray players, for some reason. To be fair, it's worth mentioning that video game consoles and smartTVs often do have web browsers installed, nowadays, whereas other categories of devices still do not. The web browser itself is an app, on these things. Roku calls its units' constituent software parts "channels" rather than "apps", though; which kind of makes Roku's purpose clear.
