I’m missing the not interested option to reduce the suggested movie list under: suggested for you.

Thx for the answer.

I saw the increase from 20 to 50 suggestions, but still miss the “not interested” option so I can nicely scroll through the list.

Without this button I’d expect to see more (and re-curring) titles of syggestions I don’t want.

I don’t think this is an improvent.

Under recommended for you, the “Not Interested” option is no longer available. Please bring it back. Those recommendations are the best part of the App.

I don’t remember a recent update but on the app I can no longer click ‘not interested’ on recommendations. This is very inconvenient as the only way to do so now is to go to the full site and click through the titles six at a time rather than all at once. I don’t get why you would remove this feature as it was very easy to say you aren’t interested in something so it doesn’t take up space in your recommended list. I’ve also noticed that plot summaries are now grouped differently so that they basically pile on top of one another? It looks sloppy. Why these changes? It just makes the app experience less enjoyable.

Yah I loved this option you've made the recommended movies useless now because it's full of movies I don't want to see

For the last few weeks, there is no Not Interested button anymore in my recommendations. So I can't get rid of the ones I don't want. Was this changed or is this a glitch? This is on my Android phone. Thanks for any help.

This was a terrible change to make. Now there's just a bunch of recommendations that I don't want and can't get rid of, that are just clogging up the list. What is the point of this? How was this supposed to be better? Please bring back the not interested button. Otherwise, the recommended list has become pretty much useless.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Recommended for you: no not interested.

The last update or so I noticed I no longer have a Not interested option on the recommend movie list. If I hit recommend for you list click on a movie or tv show I don't want by ! key I have no option but to rate it. No "Not interested" option on version of 8.2 IMDB apple App updated today.

Why this was taken out of the app is stupid. but there is a quick fix, you can ether rate a show you don't like or don't want to watch as 1 star screwing up IMDB's rating system.

or you can login into the site on a computer or if you have a ipad open imdb as a site, you can do this in the app. and then scroll down the bottom and find the recommend for you option and mark the shows you don't want to watch as not interested.

I had to do this with The Wayne & Shuster Show  I sure "Learning the Ropes" but there is just no way in hell I could ever find it on video let alone want to watch it. Ohh good I am getting "The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour" just because I liked SCTV.

Yeah, I wanted to give them time to fix it before I started giving everything a 1. But two months and two app updates later, and it looks like this is a lost cause. So 1's it is.

Then the best way for you is to login into the site on a computer and mark the shows Not Interested, tell it's fix. or tell that's removed.

Now I am getting music videos recommended too me.

At first I was hesitant because I don't want to mess up their ratings, but now I would rather be spiteful and give everything 1's! :D

logging into the site was the way to go, but they locked us users out of that too, The recommendation option was the best feature of IMDB, it was so spot on of what I should watch, now it's broken and recommends garbage. it may as well be removed from the site all together because it's totally useless now. THANKS IMDB,

I give you one star on this, I'd give you zero but there is no option for that.

No, not permanently removed.  It is on the "to do" list but unfortunately there are several things ahead of it, sorry.

That sounds good, May I ask why the hell are music videos in IMDB, it's the internet movie data base, not the internet music data base. I guess tv shows can sort of be there but adding music videos and porn movies is really not necessary and should be removed.

Hello, Jerry.

As a man who agrees with the music video decision may I explain most people's position about that, which influenced the IMDb's decision to include them? Music videos are essentially short films, sometimes produced with as much talent involved and as much creative input. Industry is essentially the same, so demand was there for years and so were the long-form music videos which were too much of a borderline cases and were added anyhow. Adult movies certainly demand another debate, but considering how large the industry is, ignoring it at this point is pretty much impossible. Plus it also has too much connections to mainstream movies. Some people would argue that it is actually a part of mainstream (a notion that was there since 1970's).

Finally, "movie" is short for "moving picture" and might refer to audio-visual media in general. Audio-visual media includes everything from Louis Le Prince's 1888 short films (which were 2 seconds each) to feature films, not excluding music videos, short films, commercials, video art and a lot of indescribable things in-between. There are criteria of eligibility which do separate abstract non-production "videos" from eligibile titles.

Please bring the option back. Removing it was literally the dumbest thing that has happened to your app and I find myself relying on other sources for movie ideas now.
