I’m missing the not interested option to reduce the suggested movie list under: suggested for you.

Thank you for asking about the removal of the “not interested” option.  This change has been made as part of on-going updates and simplifications to IMDb. You can still browse, sort and filter recommendations, as well as add any title to your Watchlist or Rate it. By tapping the “i” next to any recommendation, we’ll also display why it was recommended.

As part of this update, and to offset the removal of the “not interested” option, we’ve also increased the number of recommendations we provide.

This is a horrible idea. I'm going to start giving all these movies 1 star without watching them just to get them off my list... Please bring back the "not interested" feature. My app just updated automatically, and I thought it had a bug. Definitely not an improvement.

Hope the not interessted button will come back too!
I really have to agree with Felicia. With not having this button the App will get useless for frequent useres!

Removing the”Not Interested” option does far from simplifying the app; it makes the recommendations useless.

I was waiting for the new update to fix this issue. Just updated to 8.1, and the "not interested" option isn't back. What gives?

Updated to 8.2 last night, and one month later, this is still an issue. No one has properly addressed this. Clearly, this is an option we all want back. Is this going to be fixed? Are you going to ignore us? This isn't a "question" that should be marked as "answered." It's a "known issue" that needs to be fixed. Users keep bringing this up, and their complaints keep getting merged into this "answered question."

How do you sort and filter recommendations?

I access the recommendations via the bottom of the homepage? Is there a better way?

All for keeping things simple but end-user experience is the key to the database. Please restore the option to remove 'not interested' titles from the recommended to you list. I now have a much longer list of titles I have reviewed and not interested in. It maybe simpler but not an enhancement and a step backwards.

Couldn't agree more! They have made IMDB completely impersonal now...there's nothing personalized about it anymore. It barely serves any purpose now. And they're obviously not listening to what their users want at all.

Removing this option is an idiotic idea. Now I have a bunch of recomendations I am either not interested in, or not interested in rating, but if I want new recrecommendations, I'm forced to rate something.... wether I've seen it or not? So this means more useless and unfair ratings to something? Nice people might just choose 5 stars, and others will choose 1 on something they have never seen ot intend to and give it an unfair rating.

Can you not see the point of why we want the "not interested" option?

What you are doing is actually bad for imdb as users are going to go elsewhere to dedicated recomendation sites for their entertainment.

First you scrapped the messege boards, then try and force is to rate things unfairly and all you can say is this is all part of making imdb better and more exciting? How, by driving all your members away with dumb desicions like these?

Stop going on about how imdb is working towards something no one but those behind this site could care less about and focus more on what your members are asking for that made you what you are today before everyone goes to the next better thing created from your mistakes.

Thx for the answer.

I saw the increase from 20 to 50 suggestions, but still miss the “not interested” option so I can nicely scroll through the list.

Without this button I’d expect to see more (and re-curring) titles of syggestions I don’t want.

I don’t think this is an improvent.

Under recommended for you, the “Not Interested” option is no longer available. Please bring it back. Those recommendations are the best part of the App.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Please fix the IMDb app!.

I don’t remember a recent update but on the app I can no longer click ‘not interested’ on recommendations. This is very inconvenient as the only way to do so now is to go to the full site and click through the titles six at a time rather than all at once. I don’t get why you would remove this feature as it was very easy to say you aren’t interested in something so it doesn’t take up space in your recommended list. I’ve also noticed that plot summaries are now grouped differently so that they basically pile on top of one another? It looks sloppy. Why these changes? It just makes the app experience less enjoyable.

Yah I loved this option you've made the recommended movies useless now because it's full of movies I don't want to see

For the last few weeks, there is no Not Interested button anymore in my recommendations. So I can't get rid of the ones I don't want. Was this changed or is this a glitch? This is on my Android phone. Thanks for any help.

This was a terrible change to make. Now there's just a bunch of recommendations that I don't want and can't get rid of, that are just clogging up the list. What is the point of this? How was this supposed to be better? Please bring back the not interested button. Otherwise, the recommended list has become pretty much useless.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Recommended for you: no not interested.

The last update or so I noticed I no longer have a Not interested option on the recommend movie list. If I hit recommend for you list click on a movie or tv show I don't want by ! key I have no option but to rate it. No "Not interested" option on version of 8.2 IMDB apple App updated today.

Why this was taken out of the app is stupid. but there is a quick fix, you can ether rate a show you don't like or don't want to watch as 1 star screwing up IMDB's rating system.

or you can login into the site on a computer or if you have a ipad open imdb as a site, you can do this in the app. and then scroll down the bottom and find the recommend for you option and mark the shows you don't want to watch as not interested.

I had to do this with The Wayne & Shuster Show  I sure "Learning the Ropes" but there is just no way in hell I could ever find it on video let alone want to watch it. Ohh good I am getting "The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour" just because I liked SCTV.

Yeah, I wanted to give them time to fix it before I started giving everything a 1. But two months and two app updates later, and it looks like this is a lost cause. So 1's it is.

Then the best way for you is to login into the site on a computer and mark the shows Not Interested, tell it's fix. or tell that's removed.

Now I am getting music videos recommended too me.

At first I was hesitant because I don't want to mess up their ratings, but now I would rather be spiteful and give everything 1's! :D

logging into the site was the way to go, but they locked us users out of that too, The recommendation option was the best feature of IMDB, it was so spot on of what I should watch, now it's broken and recommends garbage. it may as well be removed from the site all together because it's totally useless now. THANKS IMDB,

I give you one star on this, I'd give you zero but there is no option for that.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Where is the "No" button for IMDB's Recommended for you?.

There used to be a "No" button in the Recommended for you  section. However, it seems to have been replaced by next, which as far as I can tell, does absolutely nothing. How do we access the "No" function now?

Also, did the button affect the algorithm previously (i.e. indicate dislike toward the film)

Thank you
