Nonsense primary titles

Hello, a vandal created nonsense, weird primary titles for some Italian films, so far I have found At the Matinée ( which now has as primary Italian title
"At the Matinée" (0 hits on Google), and Piccola città ( which became "Piccola cittÃ".

I tried to delete both as blatant vandalisms, the first contribution (#200106-185230-478000) was declined as "unable to verify", the second one (#200107-074749-762000) is still pending (but if I know enough the verification bots, it will follow the same path of "At the Matinée"). Please fix both and carefully review the contributions of the user who made these edits.

Stefano: Both of these titles are currently showing up correctly to me: is At the Matinée is Piccola città

While not recently, I have seen in the past symbols such as é and à substituted for accented letters such as the ones in "Matinée" and "città". This seems more likely to be an error rather than vandalism, caused by encoding problems. I don't know the origin or solution to this problem, but in the article at, you will see that it says:
If é is UTF-8 encoded, but displayed without decoding, it looks like this:

You are now ready to diagnose UTF-8 encoding problems (e.g., with é):
Symptom Diagnosis
é              no problems
é           too much UTF-8 encoding, or viewing UTF-8 encoded text with Latin-1 encoding

gromit, did you look at the alternative titles? I see the errors in the display titles for Italy.

I agree it may be an error rather than vandalism. Perhaps a side effect of the recent work on title encoding.

Gromit, you see them correct as you are not Italian, so you see these titles under their "original titles". But the Italian users, who are the most interested to these pages, still see At the Matinée" and "Piccola cittÃ". BTW thanks for the possible explaination.

As expected, the bot also declined the correction for "Piccola città" (#200107-074749-762000)
as "unable to verify". Please fix them manually.

The issue still needs to be fixed (and investigated).
