I just noticed that the watchlist now has a 'load more'-button instead of numbered pages.
Don't tell me this site is going down the same shitty path that youtube did. With a sufficiently long list, it will take forever to get to the middle of it. Which is a big problem on youtube when a channel has, say, over 1000 videos, and that's not so rare with big channels.
Why change it in the first place? For mobile users? There's already a shitty app for mobile, so leave the 'desktop' version as it is.

Yes, new watchlist is awful for desktop. 'Load more' instead single page view makes Firefox consume a lot of memory to run with so many items visible in large lists, or even worst, turns impossible to see full large list in 'grid' under slow connections.

Also, why no longer works so useful little window with movie info and rating stars function that was visible just by passing mouse over a movie poster at lists in 'grid' view?

In new watchlist the 'grid' view became quite annoying to use since if you want to see any little detail of a movie you must open a new page to get it!  (Can you believe?)

Well, you can still access wanted pages via link above or other ( http://www.imdb.com/user/ur19687582/watchlist?start=251&view=compact&sort=listorian:asc in my case... oh, page 1 also shows only 100 instead of 250 titles, yet another bug). But it's so freaking troublesome.
Why do you have to be a pain in the butt and not at least allow us to select if we want to use NOT handy 'load more' instead of pages?
Basically, I agree with what Martin Eichmann said.

I, also, noticed the bug in which the first page shows only the first hundred pages. However, if you switch from Page 2 to Page 1 it shows all of them. Moreover the reordering capability of my watch-list is partially defunct. The ordering numbers of the movies have gone crazy and they refuse to change when I manually try to fix them. The ordering numbers of some movies exit two or more times and some numbers do not appear altogether (see attached .png file). I, personally preferred the previous version. It, too, was not working perfectly but it worked better than the new one.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled After new IMDB list update: How do I edit descriptions on my watchlist?.

It used to be really easy to edit the descriptions of entries to my watchlist simply by clicking on the description in the edit feature. Now when I hover over this

it just shows the description. I want to change my description for it, but the update isn't helping in conveying what I have to do.

Yeah, I hate it to. I used to hover around my watchlist (1000+ titles) every time I cross something from it. Now, since there's inneficient 'Load more' button, I just rate movie and that's it...

When in Detail View for all my other lists, I can easily add my own personal notes to each film. There's no way to do that now in Watchlist, other than using Parkfly's url link (see Parkfly's comment above).

So as much as I appreciate the workaround provided by Parkfly, I hope IMDb restores the original "Edit list" function to Watchlist

I agree and spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to figure out the new way to edit the notes before giving up.

I was elated to Parkfly's link but am worried that it may not be active for long.

The funny things is, that you can read your notes........but can't edit them. Why? That doesn't make sense at all

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled refine watchlist "on tv".

When I previously viewed my Watchlist and chose refine, there used to be an "on tv" option, so that I would only see items in my Watchlist that were going to be broadcast in the next few days. That option seems to have disappeared. Any chance it can be put back?

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled I asked an importent question last week about the new watchlist system! It was no....

With your new watchlist version, I can not figure out how to do a search for all the shows in my watchlist that will be on TV in the next 3 days. This is a feature I depend on!!!! I have so many shows over several decades in my watchlist that I can't do a TV search for each one. I would never find anything that way. I need my watchlist to search for me. That's the main reason I use IMDB. Then in the process, I come across something I can pay for that isn't on tv, but if you can't provide me with this feature, there is absolutely no reason to even bother with IMDB. So, can you help me? Please? Sharon. P.S.I don't have an Android, a Kindle Fire, an iPhone, iPad, or a Windows Phone. Because, I have a learning disability, I try to keep my life somewhat simple.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Keyword Search for Watchlist.

I've used this feature on occasion. It sorts out movies through the main watchlist under REFINE. I'm not sure if they have recently updated it, but it's not an option anymore. I noticed that it's still available for a general "keyword" movie search, but I am looking strictly to "refine" my main watchlist.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Unable to sort watchlist by release date.

The title says it all, I am unable to sort my watchlist by release date. Nothing happens when I try to do so. This has been happening since the latest appearance update (as of a couple of days ago, maybe a week or so)

NEW MAJOR PROBLEM WITH WATCHLIST:

When I click on Watchlist from main page (the heading next to News & Community), it brings up my list of saved titles. But then, when I click the Edit (pencil icon),

THE LIST DISAPPEARS ENTIRELY!

So how am I supposed to select individual titles in order to move them to one of my other lists?

It has now been four weeks since the launch of the new watchlist. For me who mostly use it for ordering purposes (I have hundreds of films in it) it is not much use at all since we lost the drag-and-drop ordering feature and you can't really use the numbers since that would require that the items in the list was, as in the previous watchlist, ordered from one upwards. How the numbers in the new watchlist works in really a mystery to me and I have been a computer programmer for over 20 years. I tried reordering the first three films in my watchlist. They had numbers 2,5,6. I changed the 2 to a 3 to see if it would stay before the 5 or if it would move from first position to third. It moved to third position but the number for all three films are now 4.

The old layout of the compact view was much better.  I'm not interested in the IMDB ranking in this view.  Much more important to see the number of votes.  Also the cover image should not show up in the compact view.  Makes life 100 times more difficult

Missing preferences to watchlist:

Earlier there was a function where you could add:

Average rating (between 1 and 10). And Numbers of ratings

with the still existing preferences:

Type of feature

Genres

Where to watch

Release year

Hope that these options come back

I've been waiting for the bugs to be ironed out since this update rolled out, but nothing has happened. The update is horrendous and has ruined the watchlist for me. I don't really use it, any more. I just check in every now and then to see if it's been updated again to fix it.

My biggest problem is that you can't drag items to reorder them any more. This made up the majority of the functionality for me as I have a very large watchlist, but I like to keep a "priority" part of the list on the first page for things that I intend to watch soon or keep an eye on during development as opposed to "I'll get to them eventually". I can't easily do this any more.

The next problem is that, whilst I should be able to reorder items with the number feature (even though this is far less user-friendly), this doesn't work. I've tried sitting there, calculating where each new item will shift the numbers and what each number needs to be, only to click on "save reordered list" and for the titles to jump around seemingly randomly. Sometimes, I click it and literally nothing moves. Generally, it will move things, but they'll be 2 or 3 places away from the number I chose. This means that it's impossible to reorder things with any effectiveness.

Another problem is that it's now impossible to add notes for titles on the watchlist, which is really unhelpful. I would often specify a specific season of a TV series or put a reminder that I wanted to watch something because it had a specific actor or DOP or something of that nature.

Yet another problem is the "load more" completeling replacing a "next page" option. I have 1,282 items on my watchlist and it's unreasonable to expect me to sit there loading more over and over again to get to the end of the list rather than being able to skip there.

And finally, the amount of titles loaded up on each page when in edit mode seems to be completely random. It generally starts with 101 per page, then moves to anywhere from 100-253 with reloads and moving onto other pages.

Essentially, this update stinks of yet another website sticking a middle finger up to desktop users of websites and reuining their functionality in favour of appealing to stripped down tablet and phone interfaces. It's ruined this feature for me and it was one of my biggest draws to IMDb.

I very much agree with you, just one thing, one of the things I did not like in the earlier version was that it took so many "next page" in edit mode to get to the end and this they have actually "fixed" now as you can reverse list order in edit mode. I gave up other film sites for this as it was all around the best but as you I mostly used it to organize my watchlist but I do not even try anymore. It is hard to understand if they did test it and replaced the earlier funtioning version with this or if they just did not test it at all.

Before the watchlist update came I could look through my watchlist easily by look at one page at time. But after the "new" watchlist update came all of my movie list is one big list and if I want to see more I have to press load more so often. Sometimes the computer will freeze somewhere in the middle of list and so when you start again there is no way to go to the same place as you where before, instead you have to do it all over again and pressing "load more" hundred times.
Is there some way for me to change this and getting the old easy watchlist with pages or at least can't imdb "fix" this. Because I cant believe that anybody like this more then old one.

I was just wondering when IMDb will have a complete UI update? Is this something that is process of being implemented?
