Need help removing a video.

There's a video trailer on my page entitled "Flashback" that barely features me at all in the background. I've searched for ways to remove this but from what I gather I have to kindly ask the staff to do it for me since it is a project on which I am still credited and I can't manually remove. So... would you please with a cherry on top? :-)

If you have a credit for that project, IMDb is almost certainly not going to remove it.

Their philosophy is that User's may be interested to see all the items a person was involved it, even if it was a small involvement.

Thank you for the response, David. I want to point out that any persons can still see all the items an actor was a part of in the "Filmography" credits section, so it would not hurt that philosophy for anyone that wishes to go down that rabbit hole.

I guess most of the rest of this response will be directed more towards IMDb Staff and Tech, and anyone who either agrees or would like to discuss the related (or unrelated) video removal option:

An IMDb page is an effective tool for an actor to get more work. My concern is it doesn't help when someone is actually looking for me in action, and they're sitting through a two minute trailer as I only appear in the corner of a dark blurred background for one second - it wastes that person's time and is not a well-to-examine display of related work.

I've seen many actors' pages cluttered by this to the point where it's difficult to find their updated and relevant work, so I know I'm speaking for others as well. Credits build over time, some productions will be better than others, and it's important to update and simplify that for busy people who are potentially casting or even just curious about your work.

It looks to be that the only option to remove the trailer would be to uncredit myself from the project, but I would prefer not to do that.

So that's why it'd be nice to have an option to remove and make it easier for people who visit the actor page. If that's not a feature that's available to us IMDb Pro users, then I hope it is in the future - because I see many actors reporting it here as a problem that will keep coming back until there's a fix.

Sincerely,Alexander

While I understand the issue from your perspective; what you need to realize is: IMDB is not a resume.

It would be more productive to try and find better clips and ask for those to be promoted ahead of less useful clips so that the average user finding your page has better content.

Asking to simply remove something like this if it's the only video that could be found of you is not likely to happen.

Another suggestion: Make your own page on another site displaying only what you want to be used for consideration and link to that page from your resume. Anyone you are trying to get hired by should be given your resume and your personal page links.

IMDB is going to side with factual information for public view on its pages.
