  • Not a Problem
I have submitted several updates to the show Firefly (episodes are in the wrong order) on 2013-08-03 and they still have not been processed yet.
I checked the processing times and the backlog and the oldest items are a from Nov. 25th, so something seems off.
Any idea what the problem is?

Can you provide the reference number for the submissions? Also if you tell us what they were we ordinary users might be able to provide some feedback on what the problem might be.

While many people think the Firefly episodes should be listed in a different order, I don't think IMDb wants to change them.

I'm sorry, but this is stupid. In this case IMDB should change it. Episodes are supposed to be watched in the production order or the order they were intended to be watched.
If some idiot makes a mistake by airing a show in a wrong order this cannot be the reason for keeping the episodes in the wrong order.

I personally agree that Firefly episodes should be listed in the intended sequence rather than Fox's stupidity in airing.

Unfortunately, IMDb's policy is that episodes should be numbered by Air Date. This actually makes sense in almost every case.  For example, the original Star Trek episodes were not shown in the order they were originally intended (which is why the Star Dates mentioned for the Captain's log are not sequential). I am not positive if they were produced in that sequence, but in cases like this the air date sequence is what most people would expect.

I think their choice is correct for the vast majority of cases, but they will not make an exception even for a case like this.

IMDB can keep the release date, but the episode numbers should still be corrected. Just because an episode was aired first does not make it episode 1.
