My review was turned into a wall of text.

I submitted a user review, and the site removed some of the formatting, but not all. The first half looked fine, but the second half was turned into a single chunky paragraph. I did everything I could think of to fix this and nothing worked. There were eight paragraphs before. Is there a limit?

Hi Alex -

Were you able to fix your User Review and submit it for listing?

Did you write it in a word processor? I sometimes find you don't get the right type of hard return at the end when transferring over from a word processor to a web form. If you view the formatting the difference is between a carriage return arrow ↵ and a pilcrow ¶ (it is the latter you want).

I was able to get the review fixed. But it was weeks ago, so I forget now how I did it.

I do have the same problem now:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2333784/reviews-269

All the bullets I've written are now merged into a big chunk of ilegible text.

Even copying the code to a plain text editor, editing it there and pasting it back to the site didn't work. Whenever I hit [Preview], the text in the preview and in the website's editor, too, appeared as before. The line-feeds have been deleted by IMDb.

Is there any remedy or feedback line to report this problem to?

Up to now, three of the bullet points in your review remain incorrectly formatted ("merged" with a preceding paragraph).

I've done some quick testing with the review editor. There would seem to be a bug in its formatting logic, but there may be a workaround (if the system will allow you to edit that review again):

In the two instances where the review contains the word "Great!" with an exclamation mark, please change the exclamation mark to a period. (Or, if you strongly prefer to keep those exclamation marks, an alternative would be to add an ellipsis "..." afterward.)  Also, where you have a colon following the word "enjoyed", please change that colon to a period.

In my test, those changes effectively avoid the bug that causes the incorrect reformatting.  After making those changes, click the Preview button and check the previewed text to see that the bullet points remain properly separated.

Ahh.. excellent! ... What a relief...

So the editor is sensitive to different combinations of punctuation characters?

Thank your for your solution suggestion, pal.
