i am not currently listed.  my first film credit has been added to someone with the same name as mine.  i would like to edit the cast information from the production's page and add myself as "john whitehurst (II)" to the imdb.

however, from the production's page I click to "correct/delete" from the cast listing and i am taken to a page that says "no data"
there is a message indicating it could take 24 hours to update. it has been 3-4 days and the data is not updating.

I also attempted to correct the listing from the other person's page.
his page is now showing 3 credits (including mine)
when i attempt to "edit" the listing for "The Survival Guy" in order to correct the listing from "john whitehurst" to "john whitehurst (II)" I cannot.
only the 2 earlier credits from years gone by are showing.

is this normal.. should i just keep waiting for the data to someday show up or am i doing something wrong?

John: Apparently the credit attributed to (the other) John Whitehurst for "The Survival Guy: Prologue" has not promulgated through all the versions of IMDb's databases yet. For example, the database for display purposes and the database for editing purposes are not always synchronized. So even though the credit is shown on the page, one will have to wait (hopefully not too long) to be able to edit it.

I would allow two more days for the credit to become editable, and if you still can't submit the correction at that time, post here again and hopefully an IMDb staffer will look at the problem.

The credit is now available on the Update database, and you can submit the request to switch the name to Whitehurst, John (II). That is the correct internal format of the name you suggested, and it will display as John Whitehurst (II).
