Merge Accounts

I asked the writers of 2 projects to correct the spelling of my name so all my credits would appear under one name, but now my name is listed twice, once with a (I) and another with a (II). Will this go away in a few days or do I have to do something to merge the accounts.  I want everything under one name ONLY.

KayDee,
They probably did not know what you were asking or what they were doing....but it is easily resolved.

Just in case I make a mistake though, are these you?

Yes, you do need to do something.

See Person X and person Y are the same, how can I combine their listings? for the official word.

Basically you should start from the page with the (II), and click Edit page

Select to Add correction to Name Correction or Merge (the first option)
Click Continue (at the bottom of the page

Enter the name from the other page in the internal Surname, Givenname format i.e.  Carr, KayDee (I)
Enter the Explanation : that you are KayDee Carr, and that both pages are solely about you, so you are merging them.
Click Check these updates

The item should have a beige background, and you should see the warning :
You are about to merge two separate name pages into one.
Are you sure you want to merge this person with Carr, KayDee (I)?
  • If this is a different person with the same name, use the next available Roman numeral to distinguish them as described in the Name Format Guide.
  • If only some of the data should be moved (credits/bio), please go back and move each item separately (for help with this process we recommend visiting the IMDb Get Satisfaction community message board).
You do wish to combine the two pages, so just check the box beside Warning understood, go ahead anyway.
Click Re-check these updates

The form should now have a green background and you can Submit these updates.

This type of change usually only takes a day or two, but can take longer. Also, sometimes credits will disappear temporarily during the process. Allow 48 hours after the merge has begun for everything to settle before reporting any inconsistencies.

Can my credits be noted, so if they disappear during this process, I or someone from IMDb can put them back?

KayDee -- David said that it was possible that your credits might disappear temporarily. However, if that does happen, they should be brought back within a couple of days.

If you are concerned that your credits might disappear and not be brought back after a couple of days, you can print out your current IMDb pages, or save copies of them using your web browser, and then you will have a record of them so you can re-submit them if necessary. But most likely that won't be needed, because I would expect your credits to all appear once the merge has fully completed.

If it makes you feel better...here's what the pages look like now.  However, as mentioned above, that was only a warning that if something has disappeared, you should not panic and start re-submitting data, that it's what is supposed to happen and that you should, instead, just wait another day or two for the data to all settle back into place with the re-building of the page.

KayDee,
The merge of those two pages has been processed, so as you see below, all your credits are now on one listing.

The biographical sentence below your name is automatically generated, but I find it incredibly pleasing that if one just reads it without context, it states:
KayDee Carr is an actress known for kicking zombie ass for Jesus.
As professional references go, that's a pretty good one!

My credit for "Party Girl" says "Regina Renfold as "Kay Dee Carr".  I tried to delete the "as Kay Dee Carr" but it must be restricted because I couldn't change it.

I also tried to delete "Kay Dee Carr" as my Alternate Name and it says it's locked.

You can currently only change AKA's that were created by an entry in which you were credited differenly on screen.

How did the credit appear on screen and can you get a screen capture to prove it? The AKA can be changed by changing the credit...but only if the listing is wrong and you can show it appeared otherwise.

Edit to add: It seems it hasn't aired yet. You might have to wait until then, unless production, if they added the cast, can submit to correct it and verify it'll be corrected before airing. If that's how it is going to air, then it's listed correctly as is.

I was able to submit a change to remove "as Kay Dee Carr" from the credit I mentioned earlier, but I still can't delete the alternate name.  A screenshot is below.

As David mentions, it's updating now, almost complete.

As I said above, and as you've seen in the screen capture you provided, AKA's cannot be added/deleted/corrected currently.  The only way to currently change AKA's shown is to change credits on which they've occurred.  So, when you changed the way the credit was spelled, it removed the need for the automated AKA's based on credits by alternate names/spellings.  In your case, only one correction is appropriate so you're not hindered by the fact the section is currently closed for manually adding an alternate name.

The (as Kay Dee Carr) attribute is still part of the "Party Girl" (2014) {Extreme Prejudice (#2.6)} credit in the Update database; therefore the  AKA name is still there. Have patience. The Alternative Name has been removed from the display page, it will be removed from the database when the attribute is removed.
