Louise Whitney sang lead vocals on the Emmy nominated "Early In The Morning" from 1977's The Minstrel Man. I'm trying to get her credited.

I have been attempting to get her listed on the credits, but it hasn't appeared yet. I have a screenshot of the rolling credits. What do I need to do?

You can post here the submission ID number and upload the screenshot of the credits also (using the camera icon) and staff can check the status of your submission.  How long ago did you submit it?  It can take between  2 days and 2 weeks for submission accepted to be processed completely. I notice that you said, "...been attempting..." and if you re-submitted while it's still processing, it can slow the process as submissions need to be cross checked.  It's best no to re-submit unless it's been over a month or staff asks you to send it again (as in, do it again and add the screenshot).

Did she appear on screen singing it?  Did the credits list her as a character?  Or was she listed with the soundtrack information?  It doesn't look like she currently has a Name Page so there'd be no link to a Name Page if she's listed with the the soundtrack songs/artists/writers.

Thank you, BluesmanSF - she did not appear in the film, she sang the soundtrack, and her name appears in the credits with the soundtrack (see attached screen shot). There is a page for "The Whitney Family" (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm6280161/). I'm not sure if it can be linked to that.

Let me know - and thanks again!

Tracey: This song would need to be listed as a Soundtrack credit for the film. Can you post your most recent data submission for this? You can copy it out of the receipt you would have received from IMDb by e-mail immediately after sending it in. Some of the regulars on the board may review it and, if they can, they may provide suggestions as to how to improve the submission to get it included in the database.

A person's name in the soundtrack credits for a film or television show can only be linked to their name page if they have an IMDb name page -- and a person can't get an IMDb name page just for having soundtrack credits. The person would have to qualify for an IMDb name page from having been credited in another IMDb department -- such as an Actor/Actress role, a Self role, a Music Department role, or any other IMDb-listed occupation.

The only credit listed for The Whitney Family is a single appearance on "Lou Rawls Parade of Stars." If Louise appeared on that episode, you could try submitting her for a Self credit in that episode, with the role of "Herself - The Whitney Family" and an attribute of (uncredited). This is at least theoretically allowed under the IMDb rules at http://www.imdb.com/updates/guide/cast#group. However, this might not be enough to garner her a name page because IMDb will usually only allow uncredited roles to be posted for people who have at least one credited role. (See http://www.imdb.com/help/show_leaf?uncreditedcredits.) They might make an exception because the "Lou Rawls Parade of Stars" appearance was in 1980 (a more recent appearance would be less likely to be accepted).

I realize that some of this may seem to be going around in circles, but the way to get an IMDb name page for Louise would be to find an eligible credit that she has had, where she was credited, and specifically credited in her own name rather than a group name, for something other than a soundtrack credit -- and get that credit added to the database. If you can meet those criteria, Louise will get an IMDb name page and her "Minstrel Man" soundtrack credit can be linked to that page.

I hope this helps. Good luck!

She and The Whitney family are listed under The Midnight Special http://www.imdb.com/name/nm6280161/, and she is also credited as herself on the soundtrack to "The Lost Man." http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0064602/soundtrack?ref_=tt_trv_snd

Tracey: I do see the group credit on "The Midnight Special" now (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3523432/fullcredits), but I only see the group credit there -- I don't see an individual credit for Louise there.
