Hello,

The "Use Device Location" for the android app doesn't work for me, just puts me in USA. If I turn it off and go to find my own country in the list, its not there.

Why are u missing so many countries in the app?

I just want to see when a movie comes out here. I'm from Denmark, if that helps.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Vincent,

It sounds like you may not have given IMDb permission to use your device location in your Android settings.

Please go to your phone's Settings >> Application Manager >> find the IMDb app and confirm that Location is turned On.

Let us know if you have done this and are still experiencing the same issue.

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Vincent,

Please uninstall and reinstall your app, then ensure you accept all requests to use your device location. If you are still having trouble, please write us back with the following:

- your device and OS version
- your IMDb app version
- your wireless provider
- your ZIP code, if applicable

Thanks in advance!

Still the same problem.

- HTC M8, Android 6.0
- Version 7.2.0.107200300
- YouSee, but happens on any wifi as well
- 4000 Roskilde, Denmark

Thanks for looking into this.

Hi Vincent,

I have confirmed and we do not support Denmark for showtimes at this point. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause!

I don't need showtimes, all I want is to see the release date of a movie like I can on IMDb.com.

Showtimes in Denmark, is still not supported on the webpage, but I can still see the release date for Denmark under a specific movie.

Hi Vincent - that should work, as long as your device settings (not app location settings) are set to Denmark as well. Can you confirm that is the case?  And tell me a specific title you're looking at? On some Coming Soon titles you'll see a featured release date at the top of the page, and on all titles, if you scroll to the "Details" section you'll see the release date in your country. Then tap to see all release dates.

Hi Jess,

The country on phone is set to Denmark, but the language is set to English. I prefer that. Does the app really depend on the language of the device instead of country?

Yes when I look under the details section, I get the american date. I have to click and scroll to get the date for my country.

I'm look at the new Thor movie, where it says "November 3" which is the american date. I should say  "October 26", where it came out here.

Thanks for all your help so far.

Unfortunately, yes. The Android OS (operating system) passes us the language of the device and that's what we use to determine release date.  We have some work on our backlog to add IMDb app settings for both country and language which would enable us to provide a more personalized experience.

Alright, I guess that explains it.

Thanks for your help.
