I was updating the list when i noticed the number for "the portrait of a lady" was wrong:

it is listed as number 555 in the list, even though I typed in 559. The correct number does show when leaving editing mode:

I have found the four missing digits:

I want to continue editing my list but i'm afraid it will mess my order even further. I assume the error is the same that i experienced before and thats the reason why i also posted this message in that board. Thanks for the help :)

At one point (apparently 15Jun), I copied the data out of this list, emptied it, and copied it back in, successfully renumbering everything. But the problem is back, and visible when Exporting the file as well.

I have some lists of my tvshows and I always find them in a different order, switching places randomly. I have a specific order for the list and when this happens it drives me crazy. Can someone explain and help me, please?

It would also be helpful if you let us know which list items moved (original and new position), and when you noticed the change. We will be able to use this to investigate changes.

Hi! I am trying to edit a list but unfortunately cannot, as I get many duplicate numbers, for example many fours, threes, etc. I set a duplicate to a different number but the change does not apply even if I save the order and then I get a random number allocation to the items of the list.
Apparently I am facing some kind of error here but cannot fix it.

I recently discovered several errors on my top 250 list, that need fixing. There are three actors with the same list number. On the last actor at the bottom, on the last page has the number 248. Here's a couple of screen shots:

Here's the link to that list (private/non-public setting): https://m.imdb.com/list/ls025521709/?...

Dear IMDb
I am experiencing problems with one of my lists: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls046891728/. In list-edit mode numerical-order does not display correctly - (some numbers are repeated and some numbers do not occur at all). This makes for list-editing, where positioning of new titles is crucial, a real nightmare.
Your help in regards to this issue will be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Sorry to bother again. I would just like to point out I am experiencing a similar problem in regards to another of my lists: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls000643238/ - The problem occurs on page 9 at number 2124 (In edit mode).
Thanks in advance.

Yet again. I am now experiencing yet another numbering problem on another list in the edit mode: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls027340260/ .
Hopefully this issue can be rectified in the near future - I'm running out of lists that can be successfully edited.
Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure if the person (Col Needham) who merged your topic here also made sure someone on staff was looking to repair your lists. I know they are massive efforts with LOTS of traffic, and should be considered a valuable part of IMDb.
The good news is that IMDb seems able to repair the list, but I don't know if they're trying to determine why it happens. I've only had it on 1 list (that I've found). The fact that one of your 3 damaged is a million-viewed list is significant.
The good news is this topic shows as "in progress." It would have been better if you'd gotten a reply from staff saying they're working on it.

I am big list user myself, although around 50% of mine are for private use (including all of the larger ones). If you can get access to a mobile / tablet device which supports list re-ordering in edit mode within the IMDb app, then this is by far an easier option than the web interface. At least at the moment until we can address the numerous problems with editing lists on the web site, sorry.

I take it the mobile/tablet device you reference is not Android in nature. I just tried on my phone, and saw no way to movie items on my list, nor any "Edit" function. I did see that I could delete items, and view the list with various sorts, but when I tired to hold an item and drag it elsewhere, that just scrolled the list.

If you don't care about Date Added, just create another list, and move the items there. If you want to keep the same URL, then move the items back to the old list after it's been emptied. (Been here, done this.) They should get new position numbers, in sequence, no gaps.

Dear IMDb
This is a repeat of a problem experienced a number of months ago relating to numbers not displaying correctly in the list-edit-mode: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls027608621/ .
Your help in regards to this problem will be much appreciated.

I am aware this problem is marked "In Progress" however, would it be possible to give an estimate in regards to when I could expect this problem to be resolved?

I'm afraid the issue has come up again. This time I noticed it and stopped adding titles straight away, but I'm afraid I can no longer work on the list while the numbering is off, as it would just mess the numbering further.
This is the number given to the last title added:

And this is the number as it shows up on the list:

I don't understand the numbering shift but it seems to be same problem that occurred originally (this is the same list as the OG post).
I thank you for your time and your help.

I have noticed Álex Sánchez Ballestín has confirmed that the list-editing problem has been solved on his side. However, though I brought the identical issue to your attention soon after the first posting, my issue has yet to be solved. Due to the fact that no feedback has been given, I have no idea what the situation may be from your side. Therefor, I think it is appropriate that I should inquire about it.
Your sincerely

What will it take to resolve this issue? The "In Progress" tag has been displayed for 3 Weeks and even after notification that the ticket has been reopened, 5 days ago, nothing has been done.
This is the list in question: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls046891728/. The numbering sequence in edit mode is: 1, 2, 2, 3 to 95, 98 to 251.
Thanks in advance.

Once again I am experiencing a numbering issue on my "The A-Z Music Video Jukebox" list: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls027340260/. I would really appreciate if one of your staff members could look into this problem.
Thanks in advance.
