I usually do a multiprong/front war search to verify if a poll on a given subject is already been tackled.

Use the quasi-reliable Getsastifaction search engine. Keep your search simple (and not search with sentences if you're going to title your poll suggestion with a question or long-ish phrase). Search with the main subject or theme of the poll suggestion you're looking for and encapsulate them with quotes.

It's not a particularly strong search engine and false negatives are possible. Heck. False positives often pop up in the results even if the one or all of the terms in question don't appear in the thread of a given subsequent result.

2. Take your search to Google and add terms like IMDb and poll alongside the "query term [you're looking for]".... I use this also to find/rediscover particularly old polls of mine by adding "Tsarstepan" to the search query.

3. And finally we have Dan's blog. Constantly being updated to a great degree.

IMDb Polls
IMDb has movie, TV, and celebrity polls.

This should have a search box to find any poll

This is the ONLY search bar that appears on the IMDb Poll page. This literally cannot be used to search for polls. If it can? I'm going to need someone to tell me how it works.

There is no option in the search bar's drop-down menu to search for explicitly for polls.

No one is going to scroll through 25 (incomplete) pages to see if a poll exists or not. That manual search literally is the opposite of a search engine function.

Thanks for your feedback. Sorting active polls by genre and other categories is a good idea. This is something I've considered doing this in the past. However, this will a fair amount of work.
