Is there a possibility to make credit changes via a bot?

In the german zoo doku soap Elefant, Tiger & Co., the narrator Christian Steyer is credited about 360 times as "Himself - Sprecher". According to the rules: Should he not be credited as "Himself - Narrator (voice)"? And if yes, is there a bot that can take on this task? Regards.

All ”(voice)” credits are accepted if they’re credited.

Certain ”(voice)” credits might not be accepted if they’re ”uncredited”, but they can still be accepted.

Based on the older thread, ”Narrator” credits are usually added without ”himself/herself”.

Edit: Ah, sorry, I read your post too quickly. I’m not fully sure, but I guess the ”Narrator” would be a better choice than ”Sprecher” in German.

According to the rules, cast credits should be listed in the original language. So unless the actual on-screen credits listed the role in English, it should not be translated for IMDb.

Was the narration scripted? If so, then 'Himself' is inappropriate and should be removed from these listings.

And the (voice) attribute should be added to each, if and only if he didn't appear on screen at any point in the episode.

I’m not fully sure about ”Narrator” myself. Usually it’s written in English in IMDb (or looks that way, at least), regardless of the original language. But of course it could be one of those things where the rules and reality doesn’t always match (like with e.g. Music videos, where there are both ”acting” and ”him/herself” credits accepted/added - even when the rules say only ”acting”).

Eboy, I sometimes feel that there are more exceptions than rules around here. 'Self' credits generally have different rules to 'normal' cast, so I'm not entirely sure if/how the language rules apply there, but if this credit shouldn't be 'self' anyway...

Yes, like the older thread about Narrator credits shows, these can be tricky sometimes. And there are probably loads of ”Narrator” credits with - and without - ”him/herself”. Just like with Music videos, both appear in IMDb.

Thanks. @Phil G: Yes, the narration was scripted as "Sprecher". So (now) I think "Sprecher (voice)" should be right. Have I got to change everything manually now or could a bot change these 360 entries? And if yes, where can I request a bot run?

sam, no bots that I'm aware of. The only slight 'shortcut' is to start from the name page so you can do them all in a single submission rather than dealing with each episode separately, but it'll still be a lot of rather tedious work going through it all.

Ok, so if the IMDb staff confirmes that "Sprecher (voice)" is right, I`ll change it by the name page. This looks quite easier. Thanks again.

Wait for the official reply from IMDb staff, just in case.

Yes, yes and yes. All correct. I've made the changes now, although unfortunately I'm not a bot!

Thanks a lot for the changes :-). So it does not matter if you write "Narrator (voice)" or "Sprecher (voice)"? And another question: does it also not matter if you write "Himself - Veterinarian" or "Himself - Tierarzt"? The latter example would be Denglisch.
