Is it possible to hide whole categories like all video games?

Hello,

voice work for video games is just not what i'm looking for on IMDb. So i would like to completely hide this information, because it's just wasted reading time, when i go through the lists. Is that possible?

Thanks and kind regards,
Erika

Hello, Erika Gabler

I believe what you're seeking for is (at least partially) possible. By clicking "By Keyword" in the expanded menu on person's page you can access a full list of titles the person was in and then, by clicking "Movies or TV", choose the type. However, voice credits on selected type will remain there and an overall filmography functionality is lacking in this mode. Still, hope that helps!

Thanks. I was aware that there are a few options to change the style for a single person, but i was looking for a setting, where i get rid of video games once and for all. I don't want to manually "fix" the style for every person i visit. Or for example that this setting would also take effect on the "connections" page.

Within IMDb's site, no.
But I"m sure that a user Jeorj Euler might know of a program that accomplishes the task.
He may drop in and leave a comment.

Erika,

have you tried through the advance search? It is rather cumbersome but it should do the job (I have not tried, though...)

I didn't want to try to manupulate a single list. I was looking for a permanent "ban" of all video games and people relations on the site.

As i understand it, this would only result in a single search result, where i might get what i was looking for. But i want to remove video games from the site at all. I want to visit any actor or list, and don't find any entries related to video games.

Hi Erika,

Thanks for your feedback.

I've changed this post to an "Idea" type, where it can be reviewed by other IMDb staff and users for consideration for future updates.

Please let us know if we can offer any further help.

Thank you. I hope that someone considers to implement an option to remove all video game entries from the site or my view of the site.
(or any category for that matter i guess; maybe someone doesn't like documentaries for example; video games just seem odd to me on a tv/movie site)

If you are asking about removing them from name pages then this is already partly possible.  Please see https://help.imdb.com/article/imdb/general-information/site-preferences/GDL9NWJRKWRH5L6K

The option you want to set on https://www.imdb.com/preferences/general is:
Name page: Display acting credits separately for Movie and TV-> On name pages, the default filmography view combines film and television acting credits. Checking this option will break these into separate sections such as Actor: Movie and Actor: TV.
which will also separate out video game credits into their own section which you can then simply ignore.

For example from https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0785227/ with this option set:

note the video game credits are in a separate section and closed by default.

I already know and love this feature. It does help me out a bit here, but when i go to "connections" of any movie for example, i still find entries in the spin-off section etc with video games. And there are other lists as well. I'd like to basically clear up the whole site from video games.
