Does the tracking only track the "news" info or does it also track updates to the particular title or person entry?

Eg for a person entry does it track and notify you when new title entries they are involved in are added or updated? For a title does it track and notify about updates to the title page such as production status, release date details?

Also is the tracking feature available on the imdbpro desktop version? I couldnt find it but maybe I am just having selective blindness. I can see where to add/create lists, is this the tracking function?

Hi,

For now IMDbPro Track notifies when a person or title you're tracking are in the news, but not for other types of updates. At launch, it is only available on the IMDbPro app for iOS, but we appreciate and listen to your feedback - stay tuned!

Thanks!

Thanks for replying. Do you know if there's a plan to introduce it at some point or if its even a possibility? Or if its beyond the limitations of the app to do so?

Even if its only possible via the desktop version it'd be ok.

If all it can do is track news items then for me personally its not worth paying a subscription for. If it was able to track all the stuff I mentioned earlier then for me it'd be indispensable and would definitely subscribe. Essentially its the only reason that I'm paying to use it.

Thanks again

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Tracking issue.

Not all tracking news shows up in inbox. Browsing through the tracked items shows news articles found whereas they arent in the inbox.

Hello.

Please note that not all news articles that mention the title or name you're tracking will appear in the inbox. Only articles which we believe are relevant to the items you're tracking and only from Variety, Deadline, The Hollywood Reporter, and Box Office Mojo will show up there. On the other hand, news pages for people and titles will show all news articles where that person or title are mentioned anywhere in the article.

More information: https://help.imdb.com/article/imdbpro/mobile-web-apps/faqs-for-imdbpro-track/GZML3SK6UQK8EMYV?ref_=h...#

Let us know if you’re still not seeing items that you think should be there and we can troubleshoot.

Thanks Lina. That explains it.

Then given the parameters for what will show up in the inbox vs what doesn't, a useful feature for the app would be the ability to filter the tracking list for people/items with new news articles. If you have large lists it'd save a lot of hassle scrolling through them to find the ones with new news articles. Plus going back from a tracked person or title to the tracking list occasionally resets to the top of the tracking list rather than where you were currently scrolled to meaning you have to scroll back down again (again with large lists it is annoying plus the scrolling is a bit clunky and not so smooth on an iphone 5).

Thanks again

Thanks for the suggestion about the filtering option! That would indeed be a useful feature.

To clarify the issue you mentioned related to going back from a tracked person/title to the tracking list and it occasionally resetting to the top of the tracking list, can you confirm that you're tapping on the 'Back' button in the top left or the 'Tracking' tab in the bottom navigation bar when this happens? In general, tapping 'Back' should take you to the exact item in the tracking list that you were previously on. Tapping on the 'Tracking' tab will reset your view in the tracking list.

Thanks,
Mike
