The dupe domain iDmb should be redected and not cached and live ( I reckon) - loke check out Googles' Cache of the domain.. The canonicals help but not hat much if the DNS/ Site config is wrong.

When I visit idmb.com (without the "www"), I get an immediate redirect (type 301) to www.imdb.com, so that is OK.
But when I visit www.idmb.com, I get the live site at that domain (not a redirect). This will cause problems.
One of the resulting problems may (depending on the browser) be immediately obvious on the home page, or may soon become noticeable on other pages: Some of the content (involving images at ia.media-imdb.com) cannot be displayed properly, as the requests are denied (error 403) for lack of permission.
I suppose you are right: A request for www.idmb.com really should
result in a permanent redirect to www.imdb.com.

This should be fixed now. Thanks for the problem report and sorry for the delay.

Nobody
(such as www.TheInternetMovieDatabase.com for example)
also do not redirect, but apparently might work without problems
(although I have not done much testing to be sure).
With that observation, there may be two possible solutions
to the issue you reported:
(1) If IMDb is absolutely sure that some of the alternate domains do work
without problems (even without a redirect), IMDb can probably find a way
to achieve the same for the domain that you mentioned (without a redirect).
(2) Or maybe we are correct to suggest that it might be best for the
alternate domains (maybe all of the alternates) to redirect to www.imdb.com,
for consistency, and for easy prevention of any possibility of cross-domain problems.
