Despite repeated advice to them. IMDB have used another person's biography and credits, and killed me off with a heart attack. They refuse to change it. This has caused immense distress to people who knew me and looked me up. I've given them one more chance: if they remain obdurate my only recourse will be to consult solicitors and sue for great personal distress, though I'm not naturally litigious. It seems IMDB are not to be trusted - beware what you read.

I take it that this is you: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0852817/re.... Since it is the only Malcolm Taylor I find who has a date of death. My condolences on your early demise!
Can you tell us, please, exactly what steps you have taken to have this corrected?

Hi Malcolm,
Sorry to hear you have issues but let's focus on what they are - your post is very lacking in detail.
Firstly, can you link to the page you refer to? There are 4 Malcolm Taylor's listed.
Can you also be specific on the issue? What information is not correct? What are the submissions numbers for previous attempts to have that information changed? Things like this.
The more specific you can be, the better.

Hi Bob.
The only way I can reach them is attempt to edit my page and tell them I'm Malcolm Taylor (iii) - but three times I've tried, three times they've done nothing at all. I can supply no "documentary evidence" that I'm alive - death certificates are issued for the dead, but no life certificates are issued for the living.

Malcolm, I'm having difficulty understanding. Malcolm Taylor (III) shows no biographical detail at all. Again, are there credits listed on Malcolm Taylor (I) that belong to you? And, if so, which ones?

You will NOT be given Malcolm Taylor (I) name page, if that is what you are seeking. What do you mean "your page" should conform to Malcolm Taylor (III) ..if that page lists your credits, at least most of them, then that IS the page about you!
We really would like to assist but somehow I feel as if we are talking apples and oranges. Can you help clarifying things for us? We are just users who wish to assist.

So, all of the Dark River credits belong on Malcolm Taylor (III) , yes?

Hi. I wasn't after having my personal biographical details published - I'm quite a private person, really, and even avoid social networks like Facebook etc. What I was trying to prevent was for another Malcolm Taylor (deceased) - with his biographical details - being applied to the director of Dark River, a film which gets my details correct as writer and producer. All I asked was for IMDB to switch the director credit from Malcolm Taylor (1) - who ISN"T me - to Malcolm Taylor (III) who is. But I can't get them to do that.

Yes, yes, they do. I sense that we might be getting closer to fixing this problem - if you're the "fixer" from IMDB, thank you for becoming involved and sorting it out when I'm in the throes of casting a new movie, and was only this morning accused by a casting agent of misrepresenting myself by filching a dead man's credit!!! I live in hope at last. Thank you!

If you could lose the histrionics and just describe the problem, it can all be easily fixed. Those are volunteers, spending their own free time, trying to help you. While your little game might be fun for you, they're probably ready to crawl through their monitors and IMDb accurate as is.

I'm trying to correct my incorrect details, not playing a little game. I can;t see how saying thank-you to Luvstoresearch. who seems to be trying to help, is histrionics.

When you're sober, re-read all the "cute" little things you typed, in lieu of data, up until that point. Does threatening legal action ring a bell?
You seriously thought I meant the "thank you?" Really?

I'm leaving this forum now and won't be returning. Thank you most warmly to all those who have genuinely tried to help me resolve this - I hadn't realised you were all volunteers, so my gratitude is all the warmer, my return handshake all the firmer. Thank you again.

Malcolm (a/k/a "None"):
Here is what I suppose happened. If I have the facts incorrect, you can correct me, or disregard these instructions. On Dark River (1990) (TV), Malcolm Taylor (III) has been listed as the writer but Malcolm Taylor (I) is listed as director. Since Malcolm Taylor (I) is a different, since-deceased person who had a separate career from you, you are seeking to get yourself, Malcolm Taylor (III), listed as director of this film.
To do this, you would go to the page for the film at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0359133/ and click "Edit page".
On the next screen, on the Directors line, select "Correct/Delete". Scroll down and click "Continue".
On the next screen, select "Correct" in the drop-down box to the left of Malcolm Taylor (I)'s name. Click "Check these updates".
On the next screen, change the director's name to:
Taylor, Malcolm (III)
and check the box marked "provide an explanation to assist in processing this change". Click "Check these updates".
On the next screen, there will be an Explanation box. Enter something like "I am Malcolm Taylor (III), and I was the director of this TV movie, not Malcolm Taylor (I). I am already correctly credited as the writer of this TV movie."
You can then click "Submit these updates".
If you ever come back to read this message, I hope this helps.

I have submitted 140626-170657-686000 which corrects the Producer, Director, and Composer credits; removing them from Malcolm Taylor (I) and reassigning them to Malcolm Taylor (III) These credits clearly belong to (III), if there are other incorrect credits, I have no way of knowing. Hope this helps.

There is only one Malcolm Taylor listed as deceased and this article would indicate that us a valid status: http://www.thestage.co.uk/features/ob...
Are some of your credits listed on that Macolm Taylor's page: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0852817/re... and, if so, which ones? Threatening lawsuits is counter productive, let us try to get it fixed instead.
