imdb works on some devices but not others

  • Not a Problem
I have used IMDB for years and its great. Recently I have been hit with a problem.
On my main PC, the site works fine. On my other PC, it says it cannot establish a connection to IMDB.com.
Also, on all of my iPhone's the IMD app loads and I can search but nothing load up once I select it. When using Safari on the phone, it says cannot connect to the server.
When I use the same phones on another network, IMDB works fine.

So, I have it working on some devices on the network, so the network must be fine, and Iit works on my mobile devices on other networks so they must be fine.

What could it be?

I am running the latest iOS on some phones, and not the latest on others as well as the latest IMDB app. This problem has persisted despite 2 app updates so I do not think it is that.

There seems to be no one common cause with the exception that I recently changed internet providers. All hardware and settings on my side are unchanged other than login details.

But sionce IMDB works on my main PC, on this network with the new ISP, I doubt that could be the cause.
I have tried googling the problem but am not really finding my exact issue.

Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

Contact your ISP Provider or check your equipment for software that blocks connections. This does not remotely sound like a problem at IMDb.com

I have done that and awaiting their response but I don't imagine the big brain runs through first line technical support.
It doesn't sound like an IMDb problem except that it is the ONLY site affected and on multiple devices.
so there is something there that isn't gelling with IMDb.

Hi Nick,

If you are still experiencing difficulties with Safari while browsing IMDb, please review the Apple article for: "If Safari doesn't load pages from a specific site

Can you also please confirm if you have any antivirus installed on any of the devices?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks all.

After much digging, I noticed that certain devices were getting the incorrect DNS server addresses.

After gaining my Phd in witchcraft in order to figure it out on my MikroTik router, I managed to delete the old DNS server details which were pulling through on these devices, despite the new DNS server being set up.

Once I did this, everything works as normal.

Feel a bit stupid, but these routers are not designed to be easy so i will forgive my error.

Thanks again. Sorted now.
