IMDB is failing to its competitors. When I look at a movie, and see the rating. I want to know WHY it’s rates R, PG-13. If it rated R for nudity, then I should be able to easily find it on IMDB

A movie's film rating and their descriptions are published on the Motion Picture Association of America's (MPAA) main website: Film Ratings.com.

It's possible any missing descriptions on why a film was rated may not have been updated to the IMDb because a contributor has not submitted the information to the website.

IMDb depends on contributors to add any new, missing and updated data to the site. I would suspect the competitors depend on the MPAA for rating information as well.

Thanks for the feedback.  It is very unusual for us not to have this information.  Do you have some example titles? Do you have the latest version of the app installed and have you checked your settings within the app are set at "United States" (click the menu in the upper left of the home screen and then on the next page, in the header there's a settings "cog wheel" icon on the right)?

You should find the official ratings explanation in the "Reviews & Commentary" section on the page. For example for Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)

If you tap there this will in turn take you to one of the most comprehensive parents guides available anywhere:
