https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0052189/... right now this title has 5 photos of the naked sheep, that's probably about every frame of that 2 seconds long gag does it need 5 almost identical screenshots? right now that titlу has MGM logo as a primary image it has a title card with the title in the library, but it's not possible to switch primary image as a user, because title card is not listed as poster

Agof,
I found an acceptable image and uploaded it.
When it's approved I will make the request change.
None of the other images really are an acceptable poster image.
Mine is a poster.
Please learn how to do these things on your own.
Thanks.

In the future PLEASE learn how to do these things on your own. It's not hard to be a good contributor.
Do better.
Thanks

Ed's perfect poster has been replaced by one that doesn't fit at all in terms of aspect ratio. Does anyone know how it came about?

imdb staff deletes fan art

https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/images-videos/image-guidelines/G27LPBQZA7EAZGJW?ref_=help...#

that "perfect" fan art is made by user under the name of Shadow1128
by splicing together low-res screenshot of the title, with poorly cropped logo of droopy of much later re-design and mismatching to both background tone

Agof and Mecki.
Agof absolutely will not answer this question from me, so you will have to repeat and ask the same question.

Agof.
Proof of your fanart claim please. A URL Please. Because IF you are correct then there are quite a few images that IMDb has accepted that appear to be "IN" the database that are the handiwork of this Shadow 1128, which by the way I can find "ZERO" reference to on the internet as a creator of that poster image.

Until you prove it, it does not exist.

Agof. If you DO NOT produce said evidence, a post will be created by me to point out this to staff.

So please produce it.

I found the big picture of Ed's post online.

If I look closely, I can now see that the picture is actually composed of two and that it is not an original poster. Too bad, but now we have to live with the current cropped image.

Who's to say who did it.
I want the proof.
That may have been done by MGM.
Proof please.
Assumptions are not proof

Ed, I saw your reply too late. Here's the link to the image:

Mecki.
These are the same two places I found the image when I uploaded it.
What they do not say is where the images come from.
Agof has claimed they are "Fan Art"
I want him to prove it.
Unless you ask it of him, he will not reply directly to any question I pose.
So please ask him.
If he will not reply, I have no choice but to start a new post based off of this.
Also I intend to start a new post on the subject of what constitutes "Fan Art" and what is not. A collage of actual images from the actual title in question arraigned so as to fit into an actual poster sized image is in my way of thinking not "Art". Fan Art is a creation of your own pen or paintbrush. Or a modification of existing art. Or along those lines of thinking. But to create a work like this has but one purpose. To create what a studio could not have foreseen....the internet and its accepted formatting norms. If MGM knew in 1958 that their product would be presented so poorly in media, they would have commissioned the properly formatted images for inclusion. Lastly, I still want proof from Agaf.

I'm totally on your side regarding fan art and also that there is a need for a proper fitting image for each IMDb title-site. In this case I agree, that there were two screen shots put together to create an image with the recommended aspect ratio. However, it is no newly painted artwork.

that's about outdated format restrictions on imdb side, not on pictures themselves
in >>the current year a ton of releases are web only and don't care for the grandpa promotional formats of posters. that's disregarding that outside anglosphere there often there were no production company approved posters and every cinematheatre had to made up one. not even all old releases had posters

another case if you have steam you can see that their old ultra wide format forced entire generations of games to adapt that as their main promo material (and therefore wide posters being uploaded to the imdb). and after recent redesign steam out of nowhere forced new box art format and now all games look completely messed up with old  wide posters

I see a very unprofessional compilation in this graphic. However, there is no 100% proof of who created it.

And as an addendum...........What kind of a database is it that ignores the fact that another database accepts that very image, but because of "Some" rule excludes it in theirs!

There are some more posters that Shadow1128 added to TMDB:

It is not clear whether they were created by him or not. However, many consist of two screenshots.

First PUBLISHED does not mean that the person "CREATED" it. It just means it is the first time it shows up on the internet. There was NO INTERNET in 1958!
Until you have a REAL published date. You have NO DATE
POST THE URL of your research.
I wanna see what made you determine your findings.

A post that says that "I xxxxxxxxx created that" would be nice.
Otherwise it is conjecture as to who created it.
Now with this in mind, I have examined the enlarged photo and can see the evidence of "How" it was created. I see the pink shading in the green background. I am not blind. But who made it is my question.
HOW DO you know with 100% surety that Shadow 1128 "Created it' or it is an image created by another.
It could be a lifted image done up by MGM as a possible image for a collection of cartoons on a VHS tape.
DO YOU 100% know that this is not possible?
Answer: No you cannot.

And quite frankly if it is indeed two images stacked one on top of the other and it fits into a poster sized format then I believe that if is not Fan Art. IMDb does accept split images as behind the scenes and poster images for......yep you guess it. "Animated" titles!

Agof there is only one reason for your removal.
You did it for spite. While you are technically correct. What harm does it do to have this "In" the database? TMD, The Movie Database likes the image. Why would you report an image that other databases find acceptable?
????????????????????
Agof, please don't act like this. It ruins things for others.
