I started the IMDB account under my name when it first started then along came a British actress with my name whose credits got added to my own and then she died. Now I can't seem to do anything to prove this in order to change it. SO irritating. Rumors of my death are premature. Help!

Can you link your/her page?  You could probably edit the title pages where her name would be and edit the cast/crew list to move the credits to (if you're both getting credited as "Anna Nicholas") "Nicholas, Anna (II)," explain that the page is you but the credit is for a different Anna, not already listed, and it will create a new page for her data.

I, or other contributors, can give you more specific help if you give info to the pages involved so we can see how best to split the page.

Thank you. I'm trying to sever the two Anna Nicholases sending links to me, the one who's still alive. Hopefully it will work.

I am having a similar problem, I was never serious about my acting career but that is changing - so I'd never worried about this before, but another actor with my name has been credited with several of my roles. Its hilarious because his page says he is Danish and born in 1953 - nearly 25 years older than me.

Any advice on how can I get these credits corrected? The help section didn't seem to speak to it directly.

Thanks folks!

Don: I assume this refers to Donald Andersen (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0026126/). Since the Danish Donald Andersen has been listed on the site longer, as far as I can tell (see http://web.archive.org/web/20060515093032/http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0026126/), he should be assigned roman numeral (I) and you should be assigned roman numeral (II).

To fix the problem, go to the combined page at http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0026126/. Click "Edit page".

On the next screen, on the Actor Credits line, select "Correct/Delete". Scroll down and click "Continue".

On the next screen, select "Correct" in the drop-down box to the left of each credit which is yours. (Leave all the Danish actor's credits as "Keep".) Also, to the lower right of the credits listing, you will see a checkbox marked "Show name?". Check that box. Click "Check these updates".

On the next screen, you will see that the name for each of your credits is editable. Add roman numeral (II) to the name for each of your credits so that it will say:
Andersen, Donald (II)

For each of the corrections you make, check the box marked "provide an explanation to assist in processing this change". Click "Check these updates".

On the next screen, there will be an Explanation box under each of your credits. Enter something like "I am Donald Andersen, an American actor, and my credits need to be separated from the Donald Andersen who is a Danish actor since we are different people." In addition, below that for each of the credits, there will be a list of people with similar names. For each list, select the option at the end of the list which says, "This is a different person not currently listed - create 'Andersen, Donald (II)'." Click "Re-check these updates".

On the next screen, you may get additional warnings. For each one, check the box marked "Warning understood, go ahead anyway." Click "Re-check these updates".

On the next screen, your data should appear with a green background, and you should be able to click "Submit these updates".

Good luck!
