I would like to have an unwanted credit deleted from my profile.

The unwanted credit is for Art Director of "Homemade." It was a student film I participated in years ago, and the film's director took it upon herself to list me in her credits without first seeking my permission. I have not been able to remove this credit by submitting edit requests via imdb (I've submitted several). And I am not interested in contacting the director, after years of no contact, to have this resolved. I should have control of what appears in my profile. Please tell me how I can remove this credit once and for all, or submit a request that will finally be acknowledged. Thank you.

I'm sorry to have to tell you this, but it isn't IMDb's policy to allow people to remove credits from their own filmographies just because the person no longer wishes to associate themselves with the film. See http://www.imdb.com/help/show_leaf?resumeprocessingtimes#deletecredit, which says:
If you said you just don’t want the credit then you’re deleting it for the wrong reason. IMDb is a factual resource, so we don’t delete factual information.
So I don't think you are likely to get your preferred result of having the credit deleted.

Regarding whether you should have control of what appears in your profile, IMDb has a paid resume service in which paying subscribers can list whatever credits they want on their resume. But that doesn't affect what gets listed on the person's main filmography page. In general, it's not up to the person to decide what gets listed and what doesn't get listed on their IMDb name page.

I hope this helps.
