I would like my name removed from plot summary

I wrote a few plot summaries back in college (late-nineties/early 2000s) for some slasher-type films. How can I get my name and old college email removed from the byline? I've tried the correction form on the IMDB page, tried setting the name to "anonymous", is there any way to accomplish this? Thanks for the help!

Hello Alexander,
What’s the submission reference for when you tried to change it? The reference number gives the date in the first 6 characters.

Hi Steve, thanks for the reply. Here's one of the reference numbers: #190613

So I tried to change it yesterday -- most recently. I'm assuming that's June 13, 2019.

There is no way to remove a name without you accessing your own account. Staff cannot access it either. Know that's not the answer you were seeking, but it's the answer you'll get.
If you can recreate the old e-mail account (Exactly) using the same mail server you would have access. Also while the e-mail may not be active, if you can remember the login info, you can still access your old account.

I've tried dozens of combinations and passwords. No luck. Is there any way to associate my old profile with my new? Is there any way to make contact with higher-ups at IMDB/Amazon? Happy to keep the review up for clarity, but just want my name disassociated. They're two pretty obscure movies, but I hate that they show up in search results all the time. Would upgrading to IMDBpro help in any capacity?

No

I'm not a higher up. I asked this same question for different reasons 6 months ago.
Answer: No
The "higher ups" are on this forum.

No.

You can wait for a higher ups reply here, but you will get the same replies.

Sorry
Cheers

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Removing Plot Summaries.

Hi Michelle, hijacking this thread as it appears you are the deletion/correction expert! I wrote a few Plot Summaries 20 years ago when I was in college. I've tried editing and submitting multiple corrections, but there doesn't seem to be any way to remove my name from the summary. I no longer have access to my old college email and I can't recover the password. Is there any way to remove my byline from these plot summaries? I'm not in the film industry, the films are pretty obscure... but my name keeps showing up in search results next to these dubious movies. I'm just at a total loss and really appreciate any guidance you can provide. Thanks!
