Stan: You will eventually be able to get the film listed on IMDb as AM/FM, but you will have to do so by a roundabout way and it will take longer than it would for a title with standard capitalization.

Submit the title as Am/Fm instead of AM/FM

When you get to the point in the process where you get the following message:

  • Before this can be accepted, you must provide some other data :-
    See below for details.

If you check this box, processing of your title may be delayed.

You should first try to place as much information as possible in the correct place in the form. The following items are some of the most frequently misplaced or omitted:

TV program premiere/air dateEnter this in the "release date" section belowFilm festival namePlace this in the attribute field for the release dateTV program station/networkEnter this as the "distributor"TV program host or documentary hostEnter this as "cast" -- cast includes anyone that appears on screen, even if they are not "acting"Miscellaneous URLThis requirement, for an independent URL confirming eligibility of the title, is often overlooked.

The above list is not exhaustive, and is not intended as a checklist to be answered in the explanation box.

Please enter the above information in the proper place -- farther down the page -- not in the explanation box immediately below.

    [ ] Provide explanation

... check the box marked "Provide explanation". On the following screen, you will enter an explanation saying that the film is actually titled AM/FM, but you had to submit it with lower-case letters in order to complete the submission. Complete the rest of the data submission as normal.

After completing submission of the film, go to the Help Desk form at http://www.imdb.com/helpdesk/contact_form and explain the situation. Make sure to provide your submission reference number -- it's an 18-digit number that will look something like 140123-123456-789000 -- and if possible, include a URL proving that the film is correctly referred to as AM/FM.

I hope this helps. Good luck!
