I should be able to pick the main video on my page that I pay monthly for!

I pay monthly for this site! Why can't I choose which video can be the main video on my profile next to my main photo? Months back they allowed us to be in charge but then they changed it and now they get to pick the video even if it's some random trailer or interview. As an actor I want my most recent demo reel to be in that main video slot. That's what I want people to be able to see as a first option then look at my other videos if they choose to do so. IMDB wants to be able to pick what video is in that main slot. Their "logic" for how that main video is picked makes no sense at all. Again, I'm paying monthly for that video so I should be able to pick.

I read that. Demo Reels are at the bottom of the list. They should be at the top of the list.

Hi Jose -

Thanks for your feedback.  Currently, as per the Help page that Jeorj provided, that is correct, the priority order in which the video types are selected is:

1. Videos relatedto the Known for title #1

  • First interview by recency of addition
  • Then first trailer by recency ofaddition
2. Repeat for videos related to Known for titles #2,#3, #4
3. Interviews
4. TVPrograms
5. Trailers
6. Clips
7. Demo reels

While we understand that the current display structure is not ideal for everyone, we are working toward offering a better display selection in the future.

That's ridiculous and doesn't make sense. If it's the page for a film then a trailer makes sense but for an individual actor his or her demo reel shouldn't be at the bottom of your list according to your logic. So silly especially when I did once have the option to use my main demo reel as my main video and it made my page so much important to me. You making me pay you a monthly fee without me being in charge of that main video is pretty criminal!

Jose, I 100% agree with you. This is embarrassingly inept by IMDb/Amazon. I was improperly tagged in a trailer for a film that I'm not even in and every time ANYONE visits my IMDb page, THAT is the video they see next to my name. The fact that I can't remove my tag from a film I'm not even in is ALMOST as ridiculous as not being able to choose which reel that I want to be featured on MY page as an IMDb pro member. It's no coincidence that IMDb is so rapidly losing credibility. This is a very easy fix, which they choose to ignore. How does it harm anyone if an actor is able to choose which video to feature FROM A SELECTION OF APPROVED videos already on their page?!?! Seriously?

Wow - I thought I had it bad. That's soooooo ridiculous! You are right - I'm using my IMDB page less and less. A few months ago that changed when they allowed us to pick whatever video we wanted on our main page. I had just cut a new reel and it was perfect timing - and I started using my IMDB more. For whatever reason they changed it and they DIDN'T HAVE TO - IT WAS FINE!!! Their "logic" on why things are now is so insulting. I couldn't imagine having a trailer to a film on my page that I don't even have a credit for because I'm not in it - WOW! Think about it we're the actors here. A trailer that we're not in, even if we are in the trailer, doesn't help us unless we have no other options. I don't want anyone to see some interview I did because I'd rather them SEE ME ACT! That's the whole point of the demo reel.

I agree. In a similar situation now, where a very outdated trailer for a tiny project I did 10 years ago is the featured video on my page, and am feeling very frustrated that I can't trade it out. I have exponentially better and more up-to-date clips on my reel - ones that people would likely be much more interested in, and I'd soooooo much rather have everyone see. Been paying for IMDbPro for years, and this just seems weird.

I have the exact same issue. As an IMDBpro subscriber, this is just absurd.

I have the exact same issue as those above. Primary video showing is for a short film I agreed to be in some 10 or 12 years ago.  Crazy.  As an IMDBpro subscriber, this is just absurd.
