There are three Joe La Due's listed on here; two of them are the same person. One is his father, who had the same name. I will attempt to clear up the confusion and add what I know. My daughter-in-law is the younger Joseph La Due's daughter. And please pardon my wanting this to be corrected. It's just the way I am.
Joseph "Smokey Joe" La Due was born in 1894 (1901 depending on where you look...I'm still researching this) and died in Dec 1967 in Las Vegas, NV. He is in the 1947 episode of Gunsmoke as Mr. Henderson. https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0480624/?ref_=tt_cl_t9 He was not in Casino in 1992, as he died in 1967. His son (information below) was the Joe La Due in Casino 1992.
Joseph Bruce La Due 16 Dec 1943-26 May 2014 has two accounts on IMDB. One is the Joe La Due https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0478534/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1, the other is the Joe LaDue II https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0480625/?ref_=fn_al_nm_2.

How does one fix this?

If you have an IMDb user account or an IMDbPro account, you can submit updates to correct data.

From what you've described, you'll need to do a few things.

1. Before submitting any updates, please clarify how the name should be displayed on the IMDb:

Joe La Due (Space between La and Due. As you posted, I'm assuming that this is the correct way to spell the last name.)
Joe LaDue (No space between La and Due)

2. Merge two name pages. Start the Name Merge from the Joe LaDue (II) page. When you type the Name Correction or Merge form, type the name this way:

La Due, Joe

In addition to acknowledging any yellow warning messages, you can post the URL of this discussion in the Explanation box as well.

3. After the name merge is completed, which may take at least 2-3 days for processing, submit a correction to the credit for TV movie Casino (1992) (TV). You can go to the title's Cast list and change the name from LaDue, Joe (I) to Joe La Due.

4. The Joe LaDue (I) page with the solo Gunsmoke (1947) credit. As with the previous page, please confirm how the last name should be displayed. If the letter spacing should also be Joe La Due, then you can submit a Name Correction. Type the name this way:

La Due, Joe (II)

Add the Roman numeral (II) to the right of the name. The son's page will have the Roman numeral (I) to the right of the name, while the father will have the Roman numeral (II) to the right of the name. This is to help differentiate the credits for both men.

Remember to acknowledge the yellow warning message by clicking the checkbox to the left of the following statement.

Correct the name to 'La Due, Joe (II)' - do not merge it with another name.

5. When that submission is complete, you can add any biographical information you feel comfortable posting on the site (Birth date, Death date, adding a link to his son's page, short mini-biography, etc.)

I hope this helps. Please write back if you need some assistance or you have any more questions.

Joleen: Thanks for trying to get this corrected.

The general idea is that the two pages for the younger Joe will have to be merged, and the "Casino" credit for the older Joe will have to be corrected to give it to the younger Joe.

Before I attempt to advise you on this, can you please let me know: Did these men normally spell their surname as "La Due" with a space, or "LaDue" with no space?

With this information, the contributors or staff here will be able to advise you better.

One other issue: I notice that the younger Joe played Ron Tyler in a 1992 TV movie titled "Casino" and then played a Signaller in the unrelated 1995 film "Casino" directed by Martin Scorsese. I take it that both of these credits are correct and this is just a coincidence (sort of like how George Clooney had roles in the unrelated TV series "E/R" and "ER").

Thank you SO much for replying.
I've been doing their family history for some time and it's frustrating as far as the La Due and LaDue. My daughter-in-law does La Due, as did her dad, the younger Joe. What I've noticed is depending on the census, or other records, they have used both. But the La Due is most common.
The younger Joe was in far more movies and TV series. I would say it's the same as the George Clooney roles.
Thank you again for your help. If I can be of more help, let me know.
