I appear to have an Imdb account as Jonathan Hansler and yet if you do a search on Imdb it does not come up until you input my full name.

Hi Jonathan,

If this is your filmography page:

it was returned in the IMDb search results here:

I believe you may be referring to the suggested search. We're unable to manually add names to a suggest search.

Jonathan: The "jhbrittan" account most likely has a URL that begins with http://www.imdb.com/user/ur... meaning that it is an IMDb user account. That is a page that represents you as someone who uses the database. By contrast, http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2023121/ is an IMDb name page which is where the credits of a person who has worked in film and/or television get listed.

Since you work as an actor and also use the database, you need to have both kinds of pages. I use the database, but don't have any film or television credits, so I only have a user account (http://www.imdb.com/user/ur1879600/). Meanwhile, Marilyn Monroe has film credits but died before the Internet existed, so she only has a name page (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000054/).

I hope this helps.

And, of course, if you get rid of your user account, your photos and resume will be removed from the Name Page in your name as it will no longer have a Pro-enhanced User Account associated with the page.

If gromit82, is correct and jhbrittan is your User Name, you can change it to be closer to your real name if you want. However, it cannot exactly match your name since IMDb does not allow spaces in it. You could change it to JonathanHansler or Jonathan_Hansler for example, always provided that nobody else has used them.

Note, however, that User IDs must be unique, including across time. Therefore if, for example, you change to one of the above names and later change to the other you will not be able to switch back to the former one (nor will you be able to revert to the current one.
