There is huge vote brigading at the title: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7738784/. Shows 9.2 on the page but only have 8.1 on Top Rated Tamil Movies, ranked 18: https://www.imdb.com/india/top-rated-tamil-movies/. This large difference is more evident when compared with others movies above it. It has been only 9 months since the film released, yet it got 10,000+ votes, a huge count within a short time for a movie in that language, even the top rated movie on that list has just 13,000+ votes, released in 1987. There are over 350 reviews for this movie, even the top rated movie has just 46 reviews, or take any recent movies. The most unusual part is 83% voted 10: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7738784/ratings.

Fake votes were added by the lead actor's fans. I remember that when the film was released in February, an open campaign was going on at fan groups in Facebook and Whatsapp, requesting to rate the film 10 from as many accounts as possible. This should be investigated. I request the IMDb staffs to look into this and cull down all the fake votes. This title itself is a perfect sample for studying how fake votes are accumulating in certain titles and how they influence the rating.

So , are they fake people too? Fans can vote for their favorite actor/actress and the roles they play.
Nothing "Fake" about that.

Also, IMDb already has in place a system that addresses your concerns. So your, "I request the IMDb staffs to look into this and cull down all the fake votes", is already in place and cutting down those votes by way of a weighted average system.

IMDb need not look at anything. It's a done issue.

Please read this.

The ratings FAQ at https://help.imdb.com/article/imdb/track-movies-tv/faq-for-imdb-ratings/G67Y87TFYYP6TWAV

Also there are 80 million people that speak Tamil worldwide. Mammootty who is one of Kollywood's oldest stars still alive would command a large following.

This is like saying any movie with George Clooney should have it's votes in question!!!

C-Mon!!!

Yes, they are "fake" people. Same person voting from multiple accounts, isn't it fake? Regarding the stardom, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan are much bigger stars than Mammootty. Their films are in the list.

Prove the "Fakes"
All of them
IMDb will do no research on a whim.
You must have overwhelming evidence.
Not Speculation.

I have already said my rationale for unusual activity on this title above. That sound common to you? IMDb volunteers can get technical evidence if investigated. Whether they decide to do that or not is up to them.

IMDb volunteers can get technical evidence if investigated!!!!!!!!!!!!

Really!!!!!!!!!!!
I doubt that there will be a taker.
But I could be wrong.
Luke, please, next time you come here, have more than speculation.
Do your own research. Expecting someone else to do the work is presumptuous.

I am pretty sure what I brought here is worth investigating. Let's see.

Hi Luke, Please rest assured that our voting system has several safeguards in place and that this type of behavior is periodically detected and automatically defeated. If you find a review that violates our specific review guidelines, please feel free to flag it for deletion.
