How to search IMDB from my Firestick?

Once I bring up my Amazon Firestick interface on the TV, how do I conduct a search within IMDB?  I can start the IMDB TV app, but there is no interface available to search OR to show an IMDB watchlist created online with my laptop.

Hi DanF,

At this time, IMDb does not offer an app on Fire TV devices to access your Watchlist or search for titles in the IMDb database. On your Fire TV Stick, you can browse the IMDb TV channel for movies and TV shows to stream for free with ads.

If you'd like to search for all titles available on IMDb TV, you can search for IMDb TV titles via the IMDb Advanced Title Search on the desktop website using the "IMDb TV (US Only)" option in the Instant Watch Options section, and find IMDb TV titles in your Watchlist or other lists on the desktop website using the Where to Watch refine options.

Please let us know if we can offer any further help.

There is no direct way to search the IMDb TV app on the stick. But if you're looking for a title, just use the main Firestick Search. If the title is available, it will show you all the apps you can watch it with, incl. IMDb TV.
Also, any title I watch on IMDb TV is being displayed up in the "recent" row at the top of the firestick home screen, even if I haven't added it to a watch list.
And I agree, there should be an app specific search feature, watch list feature and the ability to import your IMBd.com watchlist via login. It's a SIMPLE thing to program, come on Amazon! :)

That doesn't always work. For instance I wanted to watch an old 60's show "UFO". I knew it was available on IMDB, but it never came up in the Fire TV search. I was able to get it, but it was incredibly difficult.

Agree! That does not always work. I searched a title on my mac, found it on IMDB, added to watchlist. Switch to tv & Firestick. No search function or watch list on IMDB app so tried asking Alexa thru Firestick. It showed on YouTube (turned out to be only a snippet & not full movie) but did NOT show up as IMDB option. Ugh! I give up!

I never even knew iMDB was more than a site that showed you the cast of shows. Now i learn you can actually watch things through it. Too bad the only way i know how to do that is through the firestick and the firestick doesnt even recognize IMDb as an app. If you really want more fans and revenue its simple. At least allow us to search on the app. Otherwise theres no point. And sorry, i don't think you'll get many viewers considering these challenges and the fact ads are still a requirement. You either need to fix the problem or just earn less money then you could be making. Its simple. You make more money the more people watch your shows (in turn your advertisements) but if we cant even find the stuff to watch your making less money.

I like the content offered by IMDB but until you offer a watchlist and search function with firestick app it is virtually unusable to watch a series or continue watching a movie that got interrupted. We will be regular users only when these options become available. thanx dave

Carol Niklewski, your comment triggered the spam filter here on GetSatisfaction. Not sure why and how to avoid it, though, it sometimes just does that.

Nope. It is horrible. The worst part is that some titles aren't recognized by the Fire search, so it may be on IMDb TV, but will not populate in the Fire search.

Just started using streaming services and the whole thing is non Intuitive... everything works different and NO SEARCH ability in IMDB... WTH?  Were they SMOKING when they decided... "Oh, well, people will simply have to scroll through ALL the categories and then... scroll through ALL the movies/shows.

That is assinyne! I thought I was just stupid and could not figure it out.
