How can I get the lost movie (German) 'Hurra, die Knochenbrecher sind da' (English) 'Monkey Kung Fu'? There seem to be 2 different movies mixed up:

Real movies actors:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078969/mediaviewer/rm1759175168

Mixed up movie:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078969/mediaviewer/rm2866388224

2 movie clips from the movie I'm searching for:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXJ4PscsbA8
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MmPV42SRdw

Can't find it neither on amazon.de nor on amazon.com
Without the apple-option:

I've seen many shaw brother movies are sold on amazon, but it's exactly that one, I'm searching for. Does anyone know where to get it?

Greets. :)

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BD9GVWM? Or do you, Breumaster, require a physical media copy? If so, why?

I tried that yesasia-site, but I can't read that. What catches the eye is, that the running time of the movie of this 'Monkey Kung Fu' movie I ordered is not 89 minutes, it's 93 minutes, but the has same cover like on IMDb. There are two different movies around. It's not easy to get the right one. ;)

Thank you, Jeorj. :)

I even found that now in the German Amazon (Amazon.de) after your posting. But the text says, it is not available at the moment, because of the valid license contracts with the content provider. So - yes, I need a physical media copy, because I can't stream that in Germany because of license problems.

I have an old dvd copy that was made from VHS, after recording in the late 80's from a non German TV-station. I don't remember if it was ORF2 (Austria) or ARTE (France). They both have programms in German language. But since Bluray, I'm sick of the poor Quality. Even thou the movie is still one of the best old funny martial arts movies. But it seems to not be licensed for Germany.

One is Chinese and the other is Japanese, I think.

It's sure a chinese movie. It was available in Deutsch (German) and Mandarin.

Allegedly it is watchable on iTunes. But as I don't like Apple, I won't join it.
There are other (dubious) sources to get it, but I don't want to suffer identity theft.
Sometimes I wonder why they don't just bring it on the German market.
That would be the easiest. Amazon would be enough. But ok. I can wait. ;)

At this point, I'm more concerned about the apparent mixup.

The 1979 movie corresponding to the following poster does not seem to have an IMDb title page.

I wonder if an incorrect title merge was undertaken in the last ten years or so.

I ordered that movie on Amazon from that image above - it is sure not the same !
I can only say as it is. It was named (in Germany):
'Hurra, die Knochenbrecher sind da!'

Look at the youtube-links, I posted. None of these scenes is in the movie, I ordered.
Complete other cast !

???
I played it a few weeks ago. It wasn't 'Hurra, die Knochenbrecher sind da'.
Or was that an invitation to instantly put it in the player and find out, what executive producer it has? So please mention it that way! I have to sleep now. That's my plan. Tomorrow I'll search in the credits, who the executive producer was.

Ok, here we go. I just watched the intro of the movie - there is no information at the end. At the end the movie just stops and the DVD-menu appears. I found no information about the executive producer, so I tried to read all other information that might be relevant:

Producer Supervisor: Shuh Terng Hwang
Producer: Jim Ping Chyn
Screenplay: Wai Sen
Martial Arts Director: Mah Chun
Martial Arts: Su Chung Cher
Production Manager: Shea Hwang
Asistant Director: Fook Ping Do
Editor: Hung Sing Chu
Producer: Yuen Feng Shuag
Director: Jue Law

There were only some lesser martial arts information and some actor names. There is no more information available when it comes to Producer, Director, etc.

The correct playtime is: 01:35:47, aka 95 minutes, 47 seconds.
It doesn't seem like a bootleg. The cover looks professional,
the cover is also printed professionally on the disc. The layer
is not violet like burned discs, it's of normal DVD-silver color.
It's from england, because they have the same region code
as Germany and it's PAL. There is no German dub I know.

it's Madarin or Cantonese with english subtitles.

The movie I search for had professional German language
dubbing by fitting dubbing actors.

Under the German title 'Hurra, die Knochenbrecher sind da', this title is listed:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078969/
(Original title: 'Chu long ma liu')

But it isn't the same movie.

When I enter 'Chut Lung Ma Lau' on IMDb, I get back to this site:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078969/
(Which is not the same movie)

Maybe it's just the wrong image on IMDb. Because all other facts seem to fit.
But then I still got to go to apple to watch it. And who says, that on Apple it is the right one, then?

Cathy Wong from Celestial Pictures contacted me. She sent me some links for
the Shaw Brothers movies. So a big salute to Cathy Wong. Here are links she sent me:

overseas shipping:
MovieSuper: http://www.moviesuper.com/moviesuper/c-89-shaw-brothers-buy-1-get-1-free.aspx
Yesasia: http://www.yesasia.com/global/search/shaw-brothers/0-0-0-bpt.48_q.shaw+brothers-en/list.html HMV: http://www.hmv.com.hk/specials/campaign_hmv_shaw_2014_2for88.asp Books.com.TW: http://www.books.com.tw/products/D020038090

I don't know if this really helps me finally, but when I got some more time and leisure, I might try some of the links - but it can take some weeks or month. When I know further things, I'll write them here. It's a pitty, that one has to take such an amount of effort to get some hits of his youth. ;)

When I finally got it, I'll write some contributions to exact that movie. I guess every fan of that movie in Germany would be glad to get more fitting information about exact that movie. ;)

Greetz.
