Hello, I have been trying yo add images to various titles, and it keeps rejecting them because they don't fit.  I am at my wits end trying to find one that does fit... can anyone tell me how to resize it so they fit?  I'm using Windows Paint.  Thank you!

If the system says that the picture is too small, it’s best to forget it and keep trying to find a better one. There’s no point adding soft, fuzzy and murky pictures. Sometimes there just isn’t any good photos/covers/posters.

Oh, I don't care if they're poor quality... I can't find any that aren't!  It's just a shame to see my fave shorts not have cover images.

Hi, NarniaisAwesome:

It seems that the images belong to Safety: Harm Hides at Home and
Beginning Responsibility: Lunchroom Manners respectively. There are clips of both short films easily available on YouTube. Try to locate one with a certain quality (though is hard to find higher than 480p), take a screenshot and crop it (if needed) with an image editor (Windows Paint is too simple, but suffices to just cropping; there are very good free online editors, like Pixlr)...

Here you are:

Cheers!

If a title has no cover image, something is (mostly) better than nothing.

Those I've contributed look fine for the purposes of the smallish icons for lists (grid or detail view), and for the cover image on a title page. At least that's true on a 15.6" monitor. Maybe on 55" the image comes across as blurry.

I don't contribute one that looks blurry at the icon level.

BTW, a lot of what falls short and I double - come from Amazon product listings. So they're actually clear enough, just very efficiently stored.

I don’t personally agree that ”something is better than nothing”, if the only photos are in poor quality. It’s a bit counter productive, since it could make the film/series look bad.

Like ljdoncel said, screenshots from Youtube could save the day if other options are not available, but it depends on the quality (the source/resolution of the video), to be honest. Screenshots from the DVD or Blu-ray are of course (often) great options, but require a bit more work.

I absolutely agree with you. In this particular case, they are two old short films for which finding a better quality/resolution than "YouTube" is very difficult, hence my advice. For more recent or remastered works, where a better source is usually available (DVD, Blu-ray, HDTV, etc.), better screenshots are, of course, preferable and IMHO mandatory.

E.g. This shouldn't have passed the filter...

I opened this thread ready to suggest some solutions but it seems you've worked it out - I will re-iterate that MS Paint is awful and there are plenty of 3rd party (including free) alternatives.

That said, I'm glad things are working for you now, if you have any further trouble be sure to let us know :D

Okay, I requested it be deleted because the image was not relevant to the short, but I got an e-mail saying the request was denied and it wouldn't give a reason.
